ACCUMULATOR HATTRICK!

ACCUMULATOR HATTRICK!

The accumulator special was focused on three games being played on the 16th of August in the Champions League play offs round.

We have recommended the following accumulator:

Celtic to Win
Celtic – Astana

Olympiakos to Win
Olympiakos – Rijeka

Hapoel Beer Sheva
Hapoel Beer Sheva – Maribor

The games end in the following results:

Celtic 5 – 0 Astana
As expected, Celtic defeated Astana at their Celtic Park in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs. The Hoops rolled over the Kazakhstan champions (5-0) in Glasgow, but it has to be noted that Astana scored two own goals in the first leg. Evgeni Postnikov put the ball into his own net in the 32nd minute of the match and Celtic doubled their lead ten minutes later, with Scott Sinclair drilling a low drive inside the left post. 15 minutes into the second half Scott Sinclair scored his second goal of the match (3-0) and in the 79th minute James Forest scored the fourth for Celtic, with Astana defender Igor Shitov putting the game to bet in the dying minutes of the match (’88). The opposition defender scored an unfortunate own goal and set up the final score of the match (5-0).

32′ Evgeniy Postnikov (OG) 1 – 0
42′ Scott Sinclair 2 – 0
60′ Scott Sinclair 3 – 0
79′ James Forrest 4 – 0
88′ Igor Shitov (OG) 5 – 0

Olympiakos 2 – 1 Rijeka
Olympiakos and Rijeka were on the verge of sharing the spoils at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs, but the Greek champions eventually scored a late winner. The game did not started well for the hosts as Rijeka took the lead in the 42nd minute of the match, with Araujo Heber scoring the opener for the Croatian side. Heber could have doubled Rijeka’s lead three minutes later, but Olympiakos goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino made a great save to stop his effort. The Thrylos produced a much better display in the second half of the match and they turn their dominance into goal in the 66th minute, with Konstantinos Fortounis scoring the equalizer for the hosts. 17 minutes later Rijeka full-back Leonard Zuta was sent off and that is probably the main reason why Olympiakos managed to come from behind and win the first leg. It has to be noted that Jacques-Alaixys Romao scored the winner for the hosts in the dying minutes of the match (2-1).

42′ Araujo dos Santos Heber 0 – 1
66′ Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe 1 – 1
90′ Jacques Alaixys Romao 2 – 1

Hapoel Beer Sheva 2 – 1 Maribor
Hapoel Be’er Sheva impressed in the Europa League last term and they continue with fine displays in the Champions League qualifiers this season. The Israeli outfit recorded a 2-1 win over Maribor in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs, but it has to be noted that the Slovenians took the lead. Brazilian attacker Marcos Tavares scored the opener for Maribor in the tenth minute of the match, with the experienced footballer unleashing a shot from the edge of the box into the top right corner. However, the hosts then started to dominate the game and they scored the equalizer two minutes later. To make things even worse for the visitors, Maribor defender Blaz Vrhovec pulled the jersey of the opposition attacker on the stroke of half time and referee pointed to the penalty spot. Shir Tzedek won the battle with Maribor goalkeeper Handanovic and he scored the second goal for the hosts. Hapoel Be’er Sheva totally deserved to win the first leg, but it remains to be seen if they are going to defend their slim lead at Ljudski vrt.

10′ Tavares 0 – 1
12′ Anthony Nwakaeme 1 – 1
45′ Shir Tzedek 2 – 1
