The games end in the following results:

AC Milan 3 – 1 Olympiakos
As expected, Milan defeated Olympiakos at home ground in the Europa League group stages round 2, but the Serie A side failed to impress in the first half of the match. The Thrylos were the ones who took the lead, with Guerrero steering a bullet header from the centre of the box into the bottom right corner. Pepe Reina had no chance of stopping the shot. However, Genaro Gattuso’s men did well to come from behind and beat the Greek side at their Stadio San Siro, with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Patrick Cutrone helping the Rossoneri record their second win of the process. Cutrone scored the equalizer in the 70th minute of the match and six minutes later Higuain helped the Italian side take the lead. Only three minutes later Patrick Cutrone scored his second goal of the match and set up the final score.

14′ Guerrero 0 – 1
70′ Patrick Cutrone 1 – 1
76′ Gonzalo Higuain 2 – 1
79′ Patrick Cutrone 3 – 1

Bayer Leverkusen 4 – 2 AEK Larnaca
Bayer Leverkusen were desperate to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to Ludogorets and they managed to do so. The BayArena outfit outplayed AEK Larnaca at home ground on Thursday evening, but the Cypriotes scored the first goal of the match. Ivan Trickovski fired the ball inside the right post in the 25th minute of the match, but the hosts managed to equalize before the half-time break, with Kai Havertz finding the net for Heiko Herrlich’s troops. To make things even better for the fans, Alario scored the second for the Bundesliga side after 49 minutes, with the same player doubling Bayer’s lead in the 88th minute. However, that was not the last action of the match as two more goals were netted in the stoppage time. Raspas first scored for the visitors in the 91th minute and one minute later Julian Brandt put the game to bed.

25′ Ivan Trickovski 0 – 1
44′ Kai Havertz 1 – 1
49′ Lucas Alario 2 – 1
88′ Lucas Alario 3 – 1
90′ Dimitris Raspas 3 – 2
90′ Julian Brandt 4 – 2

St Liege 2 – 1 Akhisarspor
Standard Liege desperately needed a win against Akhisar of Turkey on Thursday evening and they managed to get one. The Red Devils opened the scoring after 17 minutes, with Renaud Emong finding the net from inside the box. However, Onur Ayik helped the visitors level the score 15 minutes later as he fired home from close range to make it 1:1. Standard Liege then went all-out attack and five minutes before the half-time break Moussa Djenepo scored the second goal for the hosts. Djenepo planted a brilliant header into the roof of the net, setting up the final score of the match. The visitors finished the match with ten men on the field as Mustafa Yumlu was sent off after 82 minutes. Taking everything into account, Standard picked up vital three points from their second group game despite failing to impress in Thursday’s clash.

17′ Renaud Emond 1 – 0
32′ Onur Ayik 1 – 1
40′ Moussa Djenepo 2 – 1
