The games end in the following results:

Chelsea 1 – 1 Arsenal
Chelsea and Arsenal faced each other in the 2017 Community Shield. There were no too much clear-cut chances to score in the first half of the match, but the Blues kicked off the second half of the game in style. Nigeria international Victor Moses scored with a shot from inside the box following a header pass from Gary Cahill. Antonio Conte’s men broke the deadlock one minute into the second half, but ten minutes before the final whistle summer signing Sead Kolasinac scored the equalizing goal with a nice header. It has to be noted, though, that the Blues were with ten men on the field as winger Pedro was sent off in the 80th minute of the game. The match was decided in a penalty shoot-out; Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech proved his worth by saving two penalties and he helped the Gunners win their 16th Community Shield title.

46′ Victor Moises 1 – 0
82′ Sead Kolasinac 1 – 1

Bayern Munich 2 -2 Borussia Dortmund
Bayern Munich were playing below expectations in pre-season, but the Bundesliga champions showed character in the German Super Cup and they eventually defeated Borussia Dortmund on penalties at Signal-Iduna-Park. Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for the hosts after 12 minutes, but six minutes later Robert Lewandowski leveled the score with a close-range shot. Bayern Munich attacker Thomas Muller then missed two clear-cut chances to find the net (’32, ’35), with Borussia goalkeeper denying Sebastian Rudy to score in the dying minutes of the first half as well. To make things even worse for FCB fans Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the second goal for the Millionaires in the 71th minute, but thanks to Lukasz Piszczek’s own goal seven minutes before the final whistle the game went into penalty shoot-out. Bayern Munich won the lottery, with Carlo Ancelotti’s troops clinching their seventh Super Cup trophy. You should bear in mind that Marc Bartra and Sebastian Rode failed to score from the penalty spot for BVB, whilst Joshua Kimmich’s penalty was saved by Roman Burki.

12′ Christian Pulisic 1 – 0
18′ Robert Lewandowski 1 – 1
71′ Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 2 – 1
88′ Roman Burki 2 – 2

Olympique Marseille 3 – 0 Dijon
Olympique Marseille kicked off the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign with a 3-0 win over Dijon, but the final score could have been pretty different. OM failed to impress in the first half of the match and they were more than fortunate to keep a clean sheet in the first 45 minutes of the game. Rudi Garcia’s men produced a much better performance in the second half and they broke the deadlock in the 51th minute, with Clinton N’Jie scoring his first goal of the season. Florian Thauvin doubled Marseille’s lead nine minutes into the second half, with Clinton N’Jie putting the game to bed 20 minutes before the final whistle. Rudi Garcia’s team did defeat Dijon in their opener, but OM will have to improve their game if they are to secure a top-three finish at the end of the season. It has to be noted that summer signing Valere Germain provided two assists for his teammates in the 3-0 win over Dijon.

51′ Clinton Njie
54′ Florian Thauvin
72′ Clinton Njie
