Bayern Munich to Win

The games end in the following results:

Leicester City 2 – 0 Brighton & Hove Albion
Leicester City were more than unfortunate not to grab something from the opening match of the season against Arsenal, with the team conceding two late goals in a 4-3 loss to Arsene Wenger’s troops, but the Foxes proved their worth in a 2-0 win over Brighton at the weekend. Shinji Okazaki broke the deadlock in the 1st minute of the match and Craig Shakespeare’s men continued to dominate the game. The Japanese attacker missed a good chance to double Leicester’s lead in the 41st minute of the match, but nine minutes into the second half Harry Maguire found the net for the hosts after the corner was whipped in by Riyad Mahrez. The Foxes totally deserved to pick up all three points from the game, but the match was marked by Jamie Vardy’s injury in the dying minutes of the match.

‘1 Shinji Okazaki 1 – 0
54’ Harry Maguire 2 – 0

Liverpool 1 – 0 Crystal Palace
Despite the fact that Liverpool coach rested some of his first-team regulars for the Champions League clash against Hoffenheim, the Reds did well to beat Crystal Palace at their Anfield at the weekend. Liverpool failed to impress in the first half of the match, but they went all-out attack in the second and eventually scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute. Senegal international Sadio Mane took advantage of an error from the opposition defenders and scored the winner from a close range. It has to be noted, though, that former Liverpool attacker Christian Benteke missed a clear-cut opportunity to score for Crystal Palace in the 56th minute of the match as his shot from inside the penalty area flew just over the crossbar. Anyhow, Liverpool were more than fortunate to pick up all three points from the match as they played below expectations in their first home game of the season.

73′ Sadio Mane 1 – 0

Bayern Munich 3 – 1 Bayer Leverkusen
Bayern Munich kicked off the new Bundesliga campaign with a 3-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen. The title holders adopted an attack-minded approach in the opening match of the season and they opened the scoring after nine minutes, with new signing Niklas Sule scoring his first ever goal for the Bavarians. Ten minutes later Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal doubled Bayern Munich’s lead as he scored with a header into an empty net. Bayer Leverkusen then missed several clear-cut chances to halve Bayern’s lead and, as a result, the hosts scored their third goal of the match in the 53rd minute. Bayern Munich were awarded a penalty following Aranguiz’s overly-aggressive challenge on the opposition attacker and Robert Lewandowski confidently powered the spot kick into the right side of the goal. Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Admir Mehmedi then (’65) scored a consolation goal for the BayArena outfit, setting up the final score of the match (3-1).

9′ Niklas Schule 1 – 0
19′ Corentin Tolisso 2 – 0
53′ Robert Lewandowski 3 – 0
65′ Admir Mehmedi 3 – 1
