Croatia decided to stick to their attacking style of play and they took yet another lead after 69 minutes as Tin Jedvaj scored from close range. Nine minutes later Sergio Ramos leveled the score from the penalty spot, but the Croats head the last word in the Stadion Maksimir clash as Tin Jedvaj fired the ball into the right side of the goal in the dying seconds of the match to set up the final score 3-2.

Hungary failed to double their lead in the first half of the match, but Adam Szalai got his name on the scoresheet in the 69th minute as he took advantage of Estonia’s defensive error. The Hoffenheim attacker scored a beautiful goal to set up the final score of the match and help Hungary move one step closer to clinching second place in League C Group 2. It has to be noted that the hosts had no less than 18 goal attempts in the 2-0 win over Estonia.

Belgium were struggling to find the net in the first half of Thursday’s football game against Iceland, but they eventually recorded a very important win in their penultimate group game in the UEFA Nations League. The Red Devils had only one clear-cut opportunity to score in the first half of the game, with Michy Batshuayi missing a sitter from inside the six-yard box. The Red Devils continued to dominate the game, but the fans had to wait for the first goal until 65th minute of the match when Batshuayi tapping the ball into an empty net. To make things even better for the Valencia attacker, he doubled Belgium’s lead 16 minutes later after Hannes Holldorsson’s huge mistake. Roberto Martinez’s men then decided to defend their lead and they did it in style. Taking everything into account, Belgium’s win was well deserved ad they had 22 goal attempts during the match.

Austria 1 – 0 Northern Ireland
After suffering a 1-0 loss to Bosnia, Austria faced a must-win situation against Northern Ireland. Both sides failed to impress in the first half of the match and, as a result, no goals were scored in the first 45 minutes. The Austrians, though, were desperate to pick up all three points from the game and they adopted an attack-minded approach in the second half. The hosts eventually found the net after 71 minutes, with Premier League ace Marko Arnautovic scoring the opener. Austria then decided to defend their slim lead and they managed to do so. Taking everything into account, the Austrians’ win is well deserved as Northern Ireland had no more than one shot on target during the match. Das Team picked up vital three points from their third group game, but they need to be at their sharpest in the remainder of the UEFA Nations League if they are to clinch top position in the standings.
