Our prediction for this Champions League match:
During pre season Barcelona and AS Roma played each other for the Trofeo Joan Gamper in Barcelona. AS Roma had no chance and Barcelona humiliated AS Roma with a 3-0 victory. We don't expect anything else in this game. Barcelona will start again super offensively with the MSN trio (Messi, Suarez and Neymar) on which AS Roma will have no answer to. Like last season Barcelona is one of the title candidates and could be the first team that manages to win the Champions League two times in a row.
Highlighted Player (Andres Iniesta):
Andres Iniesta is a Spanish footballer player who was born in Fuentealbilla on 11 May, 1984. He started his youth career at Albacete and in 1996 he joined Barcelona’s youth academy – La Masia. He was making progress week by week and he made his debut for the first team in 2002. In 2015 he clinched his fourth Champions League trophy with Barca and it has to be noted that he won eight league titles with the Catalan giants.
Andres Iniesta is well known for his brilliant ball control and he often looks unstoppable when facing opposition defenders. The Barcelona ace is a complete footballer and he helped Spain win the 2010 FIFA World Cup, scoring the winner in the title game against Netherlands. Iniesta won two European Championship trophies with la Furia Roja (2008, 2012) as well.
In 2011 he invested €420,000 in Albacete and he helped the club avoid administrative relegation in 2013 by loaning them a further €240,000. Speaking of his individual honours, Iniesta was named the 2010 FIFA World Cup final man of the match.
Highlighted Team (AS Roma):
AS Roma is a professional football club based in Rome. Roma were founded by a merger in 1927 and they play in the Italian Serie A. Roma’s fiercest rivals are Lazio and it has to be noted that both capital clubs play their home games at Stadio Olimpico. The two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Capitale, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world of football.
The Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds) have won three Serie A titles (1941/1942, 1982/1983, 2000/2001), while winning nine Coppa Italia trophies. The colour of Roma’s shirts is imperial purple with a golden yellow trim. A number of top-class footballers were part of Roma in the past, but Francesco Totti is undisputedly the club’s biggest legend. The Prince of Rom made his 601 appearances for Roma on 14 May, 2016 when the Giallorossi recorded a 3-1 win over Milan at Stadio San Siro.
