Our football match prediction:
Jonathan-Heimes-Stadion am Bollenfalltor will host Saturday’s football game between Darmstadt and Augsburg. The Lilywhites failed to spoil Hoffenheim’s party at WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena at the weekend, but you should bear in mind that they outplayed star-studded Borussia Dortmund in their last home game in the Bundesliga. Darmstadt face a must-win situation against Augsburg and we predict that the rock-bottom team will go all guns blazing at fellow relegation-threatened team. Manuel Baum’s troops aim to make amends for back-to-back defeats to the likes of Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen and a win over Darmstadt would see them move away from the danger zone. Augsburg, though, recorded only one win in last five away matches in the German elite division and that is the main reason why home win should be considered. It has to be noted that the two teams played out a 2-2 draw in their last meeting in Darmstadt.
Highlighted Player (Gyorgy Garics):
Gyorgy Garics is a Hungarian-born footballer who plays for SV Darmstadt. Garics used to play for the likes of Rapid Vienna, Napoli, Atalanta and Bologna in the past and he joined the Bundesliga side on 14 August, 2015. The full-back made 21 appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign, but he failed to find the net for Die Lilien in the German top flight. Garics was born in Szombathely, Hungary on 8 March, 1984, but he decided to play for the Austrian national team. He has 25 caps for Austria U21 and he made his debut for the senior team on 7 September, 2007 in a friendly against Japan. Despite making Austria Euro 2016 squad, he did not see any game action at the showpiece tournament in France. He played all 90 minutes against the Samurai Blue and it has to be noted that Austria defeated Japan on penalties back then. Gyorgy Garics is a right-back, but he is capable of playing as a right midfielder if needed.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA. The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011. The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages. Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
