Our football match prediction:
Bayern Munich did not kick off the new Bundesliga campaign in style, but they found their form in December and thanks to a 3-0 win over Leipzig, the reigning champions cemented top position in the Bundesliga standings. The mighty Bavarians are on a six-game winning run in all competitions ahead of the trip to Freiburg and, no doubt, the hosts face an uphill task in Friday’s football match. The newcomers are on the right track to secure the top flight survival as they are ten points clear of the relegation zone ahead of Matchday 17, but upsetting the title holders is easier said than done. The league leaders want to kick off the second half of the season in the best possible way and we predict that Carlo Ancelotti’s troops will pick up all three points from Friday’s clash at Schwarzwald-
Highlighted Player (Amir Abrashi):
Despite being born in Bischofszell, Switzerland, Amir Abrashi decided to represent Albania on the international stage. The 172-cm-tall footballer was born on 27 March, 1990 and he made his Albania debut on 14 August, 2013 in a friendly against Armenia. It has to be noted, though, that he played for Swiss youth national teams (U17, U19, U21). Amir Abrashi represented Switzerland at the 2012 Summer Olympics as well. Speaking of his club career, the Albanian footballer made his senior debut for Winterthur II in a goalless draw with GC Biaschesi on 16 May, 2007. After scoring 5 goals in 100 appearances for the club, he joined Freiburg on 3 June, 2015. Abrashi signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga outfit. He plays for Freiburg as a defensive midfielder, but he is capable of producing fine performances as a central midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Bayern Munich):
Over the years Bayern Munich have established themselves as one of the most successful European clubs. The Stern des Sudens (Star of the South) are the dominant force in German football and it has to be noted that the Bavarians clinched their 26th Bundesliga title in 2016. Bayern Munich have won 18 German Cup trophies, while winning the Champions League (European Cup) five times. The German giants clinched the Intercontinental Cup in 1976 and 2001, while lifting the FIFA Club World Cup trophy in 2013. Bayern Munich was founded in 1900 by eleven football players and their leader was Franz John. The Bavarians host their rivals at Allianz Arena (75,000), the stadium that was built in 2005. Fellow Bavarian sides TSV 1860 Munchen 1860 and Nurnberg are regarded as Bayern Munich’s fiercest rivals, but the rivalry between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern is big as well. The likes of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Franz Beckenbauer, Lothar Matthaus, Oliver Kahn, Gerd Muller and Giovane Elber are famous footballers who played for Bayern Munich in the past.
