Our football match prediction:
Mainz and Hannover face each other at OPEL ARENA on the opening day of the 2017/2018 Bundesliga season. Mainz finished the last season in 15th place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wolfsburg, who eventually participated in the relegation play-offs. Die Nullfunfer are eager to make amends for the unsuccessful campaign and they are considered favourites to win Saturday’s football match against Hannover. Die Roten totally deserved to secure promotion to the German top flight, but it remains to be seen if they are going to be competitive at this level. Hannover are tough to beat at home, but they often struggle when playing on the road and that is the main reason why we predict the hosts will pick up all three points from the opening match of the season. In their last meeting at OPEL ARENA Mainz recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hannover.
