Our football match prediction:
Buoyed by a 2-0 win at Bayer Leverkusen, Mainz welcome Wolfsburg at their Opel Arena on Matchday 23. The hosts aim to regain their spot in the top half of the Bundesliga standings and they are definitely capable of beating the Wolves, whose top flight status is in great danger. Mainz are eyeing their sixth home win of the season and we predict that they will find the net in Saturday’s football match against the relegation-threatened side. Wolfsburg suffered a disappointing loss to Werder Bremen in front of home fans at the weekend and, no doubt, the visitors are desperate to grab something from the Opel Arena clash. Valeri Ismael’s charges are likely to adopt a cautious approach against die Nullfunfer and we would not be surprised if the two teams share the spoils on Saturday afternoon. The two teams have drawn in three of their last four meetings in the elite division.
Highlighted Player (Jose Rodriguez):
Jose Rodriguez is a professional footballer who was born in Villajoyosa, Alicante on 16 December, 1994. Rodriguez started his senior career at Real Madrid B, playing 60 matches for Castilla between 2012 and 2014. He made his debut for Real Madrid on 1 December, 2012 in a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the local derby. Three days later Rodriguez became the youngest footballer ever to play for los Blancos in the Champions League as he came as a substitute in a 4-1 win over Ajax. He played for Deportivo La Coruna on loan in the 2014/2015 campaign and he joined Galatasaray at the end of the season. However, he made just 14 league appearances for the Turkish side and in 2016 he moved to Germany. Rodriguez joined Mainz on 1 July, 2016 and his contract with the Bundesliga club expires on 30 June, 2020. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both attacking midfielder and a right winger. Juan Rodriguez has six caps for Spain U21 team.
Highlighted Team (Wolfsburg):
Wolfsburg are a German football club founded in the aftermath of the World War II (1945). Die Wolfe (The Wolves) wear green and white shirts and they play their home games at Volkswagen Arena. The capacity of the stadium is 30,000 and it was opened on 13 December, 2002. It is well known that German car manufacturer Volkswagen are the club’s main sponsors. Wolfsburg won the Bundesliga trophy in 2009 and the likes of Edin Dzeko, Grafite and Zvjezdan Misimovic were part of the club’s golden generation. You should bear in mind that Grafite and Dzeko scored 54 goals between each other in the 2008/2009 Bundesliga campaign and that the team clinched the trophy thanks to a 5-1 win over Werder Bremen on 23 May, 2009. Die Wolfe won the German Cup trophy in 2015, with the team beating star-studded Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the title game. Wolfsburg are a team that has no bitter rivals in German football.
