Our football match prediction:
Saturday’s football match at Volksparkstadion pits together Hamburger and Augsburg, the two teams who are desperate to secure the Bundesliga survival. Hamburger did remarkably well to record their first win of the season at the weekend, with the team beating Darmstadt on the road. Die Rothosen aim to build on the triumph and one thing is for sure: the hosts will leave their hearts on the field in the relegation six-pointer against Augsburg. Die Fuggerstadter shared the spoils with the likes of Hertha, Koln and Eintracht Frankfurt in previous three league fixtures and, taking everything into account, home win should be considered in this one. The hosts want this win more than their rivals and we predict that Markus Gidsol’s troops will record their first home win of the season on Matchday 14. Michael Gregoritsch has found his goal-scoring touch of late and the opposition defenders are likely to have their work cut out for them when facing the Polish attacker.
Highlighted Player (Lewis Holtby):
Lewis Holtby is a left-footed footballer who plays for Hamburg as a midfielder. Holtby began his senior career at Alemannia Aachen and he played for the club between 2007 and 2009. The German player then joined Schalke in 2009, but he was quickly sent to Bochum on loan. After ending his loan spells with Bochum and Mainz, he returned to Schalke and it has to be noted that he made 55 goals for the club, scoring 10 goals in Bundesliga. On 28 January, 2013 Holtby signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur, but he was playing below expectations for the Premier League club. In September, 2014 Holtby joined Hamburg on loan and on 1 July, 2015 he signed a permanent contract with the club. His contract with Hamburg expires on 30 June, 2018. Lewis Holtby has 24 caps for Germany U21 and he made his debut for German national team on 17 November, 2010 in a goalless draw with Sweden. He started the game, but he was substituted by Andre Schurrle after 77 minutes.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA. The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011. The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages. Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
