Our football match prediction:
Saturday’s football match at Audi-Sportpark pits together Ingolstadt and Schalke, the two teams who have nothing to play for on the last day of the season. Ingolstadt failed to win previous five league games and, as a result, they will drop to 2. Bundesliga at the end of the season. The Audi-Sportpark outfit are low on confidence ahead of the visit of Schalke and that is the main reason why home win should not be considered. Die Knappen failed to book their place in European competitions, but they certainly want to finish the season in top ten and we predict that they pick up all three points from Saturday’s clash against the 17th-placed team. A man to watch in the away team will be Leon Goretzka, who has been producing scintillating displays in the German top flight this season. Taking everything into account, there is a big value in betting on the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Marvin Matip):
Marvin Matip was born in Bochum on 25 September, 1985 and he began his senior career at Bochum. He played 33 league games for the reserve team, while making just one appearance for the first team. In 2005 he joined Koln and in 2010 he was sent on loan to Karlsruher. After ending his loan spell with Karlsruher, the right-footed centre back signed a contract with Ingolstadt. Matip was born in Germany, but seeing that his father is Cameroonian, he decided to represent the African team on the international stage. The Karlsruher defender, who is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well, make his Cameroon debut on 2 June, 2013 in a friendly against Ukraine. However, it has to be noted that he has 22 caps for Germany U21 team. He played for Germany at the 2006 U21 European Championship. Marvin Matip scored two goals in 33 appearances for Ingolstadt in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign. His contract with Ingolstadt expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Schalke 04):
Schalke 04 are a professional football club founded in 1904. Die Knappen (The Miners) compete in German Bundesliga and they have won seven domestic titles. Schalke have clinched five German Cup trophies as well, while lifting the UEFA Cup title in 1997. The German club defeated Italian side Inter on penalties in the title game and that was the last time the final of the competition was played in a two-legged format. Schalke 04 play their home matches at Veltins-Arena, the stadium that has been the home of the team since 2001. The capacity of Veltins-Arena is 62,271. It is well known that Borussia Dortmund are Schalke’s main rivals and the Ruhy neighbours face each other in the Revierderby. The likes of Klaus Fichtel (477), Norbert Nigbur (355), Rolf Russmann (304), Klaus Fischer (295), Olaf Thon (295) and Herbert Lutkebohmert (286) are the players with most appearances for die Knappen.
