Our football match prediction:
Following a 2-0 win over Hertha Schalke played out back-to-back draws with the likes of Koln and Hoffenheim. Die Knappen experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-2 loss to Borussia M’gladbach at the weekend and, to make things even worse for the fans, the team dropped to 13th place in the standings. Schalke are only four points clear of bottom three and, no doubt, Sunday’s football game against Augsburg is of big importance for the hosts. It is well known that Markus Weinzierl’s men are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we predict that they will return to winning ways on Matchday 24. Augsburg shared the spoils with second-placed Leipzig at the weekend, but we do not believe that they are capable of upsetting die Knappen at Veltins Arena. January signing Burgstaller is likely to lead the attack for the hosts against die Fuggerstadter.
Highlighted Player (Andriy Konoplyanka):
Arguably the most talented footballer to have worn the Ukraine jersey since Andriy Shevchenko, Yevhen Konoplyanka is a creative midfielder who can play on either wing as well as through the middle. The talented footballer started attracting interest from abroad soon after coming through the youth ranks at Dnipro, but he resisted temptation to join a top European club and waited for his contract to expire before signing a four-year deal with Europa League holders Sevilla. As expected, Konplyanka quickly proved his worth at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, scoring important goals in La Liga and Europe during his debut season. Together with Andriy Yarmolenko, he has formed one of the best wing partnerships in international football, scoring 11 goals in his first 50 appearances for the national team. After starting all three games at the Euro 2012 on home soil, Konoplyanka helped Zbirna qualify for the Euro 2016 finals, netting two times in eleven qualifiers as Ukraine defeated Slovenia in the play-offs.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA. The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011. The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages. Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
