Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
After coming from four goals behind to share the spoils with Borussia Dortmund in the Ruhr derby, Schalke 04 played out back-to-back draws with the likes of Koln and Borussia M’gladbach in previous two league games. Die Knappen aim to start a new winning run in the Bundesliga and a victory over Augsburg in Wednesday’s football game will see them cement their spot in top four. Schalke are likely to go all guns blazing at Manuel Baum’s troops and we predict they will give fans something to cheer about this time out. Augsburg were on the verge of beating Hertha on home soil at the weekend, but the capital club eventually scored a late equalizer and picked up one point from the match. Speaking of the Veltins Arena clash, a lively contest is on the cards as over 2.5 goals were scored in three of Augsburg’s last three league fixtures.
Highlighted Player (Coke):
Coke began his professional career at Rayo Vallecano, playing 180 games for the capital club between 2005 and 2011. The pacey full back joined Sevilla in June, 2011 and he made a right decision when he moved to the fellow La Liga side. The Spanish footballer, who is capable of playing as both full back and a winger, won three UEFA Europa League trophies with los Sevillanos (2014, 2015, 2016) and he made it to the Spanish Cup final in the 2015/2016 season with the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit. Sevilla, though, failed to make life difficult for Barcelona in the title game. After spending five years in Andalusia, Coke signed a three-year contract with Schalke on 31 July, 2016 for a fee of €5 million. However, before the start of the 2016/2017 Bundesliga campaign he suffered a serious injury in a warm-up game against Bologna. Speaking of his international career, Coke has one cap for Spain U16, but he has yet to make his debut for the first team.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
