Our match prediction:
It would appear as though Bayer Leverkusen are becoming the favourite opposition for Werder Bremen, who recorded two big wins at Bay Arena in 2016 (3-1, 4-1), while failing to win any of the other five matches since the opening triumph over Schalke. Veteran striker Claudio Pizarro proved the hero this time out, dispatching a hat-trick to prove there is still no need to think about retirement plans, and with such an impressive victory having moved Werder above the relegation zone, predicting them to beat rock-bottom Hannover seems the right thing to do. The 4-0 home loss to Wolfsburg proved that away win over Stuttgart was a mere one-off result, and with the 96ers trailing their next opponents seven points, they will be under tremendous pressure at Weserstadion, knowing that anything but a win would get them a lot closer to the second division.
