Our football match prediction:
A place in the Bundesliga will be at stake when Wolfsburg and Kiel face each other in the double-header. Wolfsburg finished the regular part of the season in 16th place in the standings, but they could still secure the top flight survival. The Wolves need to be on top of their game in the first leg if they are to move one step closer to meeting the goal and we predict that they are going to fight tooth and nail in Thursday’s football match against Holstein Kiel. The 2. Bundesliga side were impressive in the regular part of the season, but they eventually failed to secure automatic promotion to the German elite division. Kiel are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but they often struggle on the travels and seeing that Wolfsburg are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we predict the hosts are going to emerge triumphant in the first leg.
Highlighted Player (Mehmedi):
Born in FYR Macedonia, Admir Mehmedi moved to Switzerland with his parents at the age of 2, and no wonder he decided to represent the Rossocrociati at international level. The forward made a name for himself at FC Zurich, scoring 19 goals in 84 league outings to catch the eye of bigger clubs. Mehmedi surprisingly opted to join Dynamo Kiev in January 2012, but he would soon leave war-torn Ukraine, signing a permanent deal with Bundesliga outfit Freiburg after impressing while on season-long loan. As Freiburg got relegated to the second division, the forward was given a chance to remain in the top flight by Bayer Leverkusen, and he grabbed it with both hands despite knowing that it would not be easy for him to secure regular playing time. In spite of the lack of first team action at Bay Arena, Mehmedi remained a part of the Switzerland national team, mostly due to his versatility and being able to operate on either wing or as second striker. He has so far made over 40 outings for Nati, making four appearances and scoring one goal at the 2014 World Cup.
Highlighted Team (Wolfsburg):
Wolfsburg are a German football club founded in the aftermath of the World War II (1945). Die Wolfe (The Wolves) wear green and white shirts and they play their home games at Volkswagen Arena. The capacity of the stadium is 30,000 and it was opened on 13 December, 2002. It is well known that German car manufacturer Volkswagen are the club’s main sponsors. Wolfsburg won the Bundesliga trophy in 2009 and the likes of Edin Dzeko, Grafite and Zvjezdan Misimovic were part of the club’s golden generation. You should bear in mind that Grafite and Dzeko scored 54 goals between each other in the 2008/2009 Bundesliga campaign and that the team clinched the trophy thanks to a 5-1 win over Werder Bremen on 23 May, 2009. Die Wolfe won the German Cup trophy in 2015, with the team beating star-studded Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the title game. Wolfsburg are a team that has no bitter rivals in German football.
