Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on Villa Park when Aston Villa and Newcastle United take on day 9 of the new Championship campaign. The Villans are on a six-game winless run in the league ahead of the visit of Newcastle United and, no doubt, coach Roberto Di Matteo is under big pressure at the moment. The Italian tactician and his men are desperate to return to winning ways in the Championship and we predict that the hosts will go all guns blazing at their old rivals in Saturday’s football match. Newcastle United suffered a 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton at the weekend and it has to be noted that the Wolves put an end to Newcastle’s five-game winning run in the league. Rafa Benitez’s men aim to regain their spot in top two and given Aston Villa’s poor form, away win appears on the cards in this one. A man to watch in the away team will be top scorer Dwight Gale.
Highligted Player (Micah Richards):
Micah Richards is an English player who began his senior career at Manchester City. The pacey full back, who is capable of playing at centre back as well, made 179 league appearances for the Citizens between 2005 and 2015 and he scored 6 goals for the club. On 17 June, 2015 he signed a four-year deal with Aston Villa, but he did not help the Villans avoid relegation to the Championship. The England defender scored one goal in 24 Premier League appearances for Aston Villa in the 2015/2016 campaign. Micah won the Premier League trophy with Man City in the 2011/2012 season and he lifted the FA Cup trophy in 2011 with the Citizens as well. Richards has 14 caps for England U21 and he received his first ever England call-up for a friendly against Netherlands in November, 2006. Micah Richards was born in Birmngham on 24 June, 1988 and he started his youth career at Leeds United, playing as a striker.
Highlighted Team (Newcastle United):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354. Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past. David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The colour of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
