Our prediction for this Championship match:
Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic take on each other at Villa Park in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of Saturday’s program. The Villans failed to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League last term, but they are definitely capable of doing so this season as the club chiefs managed to keep hold of key players in the summer transfer window. It is well known that Aston Villa are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing that the Latics are not regarded as good travelers, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the Villa Park outfit. Wigan Athletic did well to beat ten-man Sheffield Wednesday at home in the opening match of the season, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Saturday’s clash against Aston Villa, who have turned their Villa Park into a real fortress.

Highlighted Player (Birkir Bjarnason):

The 28-year-old Icelandic central midfielder Birkir Bjarnason bearing a striking nickname Thor in his homeland is a footballing nomad, having played for no less than seven clubs in less than ten years of his professional careers.
After spells in Belgium and Italy, the Iceland midfielder moved to FC Basel in 2015 to amass 29 Swiss Super League appearances and add 10 goals in his club’s title-winning campaign. Following a successful season at club level, the versatile midfielder Birkir Bjarnason, who is equally apt to perform as a striker, made striking appearance during the Euro 2016 in France. His commanding appearances made him a key player for the minnows Iceland as they knocked England out to reach the quarter finals of the tournament.
Despite heavy summer interest from several English sides, Bjarnason remained with the Swiss champions and is expected to play a key role in their Champions League campaign.
Highlighted Team (Wigan Athletic):

Wigan Athletic are one of the winners of the English FA Cup. The Latics won the prestigious trophy in 2013, with the team upsetting Manchester City in the title game. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that Wigan played in the UEFA Europa League in the 2013/2014 season.
Wigan have been playing their home games at the DW Stadium since 1999 and they had played at Springfield Park in the past. Chorley are considered Wigan’s fierce rivals, but the two teams last met in 1971, when they competed in the Northern Premier League. The likes of Preston North End, Bury, Oldham Athletic, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are regarded as Wigan Athletic’s rivals as well.
The club was founded in 1932 and they competed in the English Premier League from 2005 to 2013. The colour of Wigan’s home kit is blue and white (stripes).
