Our football match prediction:
Newcastle United are eager to return to the Premier League and they have been producing fine performances under Rafa Benitez in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign. The Magpies are on a three-game winning run in the league and they aim to build on a 3-1 triumph over Brentford. Dwight Gale scored a brace in Saturday’s football match and all eyes will be on him when Newcastle United take on Barnsley at Oakwell Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Tykes suffered four defeats in previous five league fixtures and they are unlikely to grab something from the game. A win over Barnsley would see Newcastle United climb to top position in the standings and we predict that the Magpies will adopt an attack-minded approach against Paul Heckingbottom’s troops. It has to be noted that Newcastle United recorded a 6-1 win over Barnsley in their last meeting in the Championship six years ago.
Highlighted Player (Adam Davies):
Adam Davies is a German-born footballer who plays for Championship side Barnsley as a goalkeeper. The 185-cm-tall shoot-stopper began his youth career at Everton and in 2012 he signed a contract with Sheffield Wednesday. However, he never managed to make a first-team appearance for the Owls. Due to the lack of first team action, he decided to leave the club in 2014. Adam Davies, who was born in Rinteln, Germany on 17 July, 1992, moved to Barnsley on 13 June, 2014. He made his debut for the club against Crawley Town in the opening match of the 2014/2015 campaign and he quickly established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper. His contract with Barnsley expires on 30 June, 2017, but the deal could be extended for a further year. Adam Davies conceded 82 goals, while keeping 26 clean sheets in 74 appearances for Barnsley in all competitions. During his spell at Everton U23 he managed to keep eight clean sheets in 22 appearances for the club.
Highlighted Team (Newcastle United):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354. Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past. David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The colour of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
