Our prediction for this Championship match:
Barnsley will be aiming to build on back-to-back wins over Wycombe and Sheffield Wednesday when they take on Preston at their Oakwell. The Tykes have been showing signs of improvement of late, and they must be high on spirits ahead of the midweek clash. Cauley Woodrow, who scored his seventh goal of the season in the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday, is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts.
The Lilywhites, on the other hand, aim to make amends for a 3-0 loss to Luton Town. Preston experienced all sorts of problems at the back in the Kenilworth Road clash, and given Barnsley’s fine form, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. Barnsley are eyeing their first win over Preston since September, 2016, and we predict that they are going to put an end to the negative trend.

Highlighted Player (Patrick Schmidt):

Patrick Schmidt is an Austria international who plays for Championship club Barnsley as a forward. Born in Eisenstadt, Austria on July 22, 1998 Schmidt began his senior career at Admira Wacker. After making 46 appearances for Admira Wacker II, the 179-cm tall striker started playing for the first-team in the 2016/2017 Austrian Bundesliga season.
Three years later Patrick Schmidt decided to take a step forward in his football career as he signed a four-year deal with Barnsley. The full-of-pace forward scored eight goals in the 2018/2019 season for Admira and he is widely expected to shine with the Tykes in the 2019/2020 Championship campaign. It has to be noted that Schmidt played for Austria U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams.
The Barnsley attacker currently represents Austria U21 team in international matches. His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Preston):

Preston North End or Preston were founded in 1880. The Lilywhites or the Invincibles play their home games at Deepdale, the stadium that was built in 1875 and opened three years later.
In 1889 Preston won their first FA Cup trophy and they did well to beat Huddersfield Town in the final of the 1938 FA Cup final. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1889 and 1890 when they won back-to-back domestic trophies (First Division).
Preston have yet to win the League Cup title, but they were runners-up in 1888, 1922, 1937, 1954, 1964. Preston’s main rivals are Blackpool and the two teams square off against each other in the West Lancashire derby. In their first ever meeting in the West Lancashire derby (1901) Preston recorded a 4-1 win over Blackpool.
Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are considered Preston’s big rivals as well. The colour of Preston’s shirts is white and they wear dark blue shorts.
