Our football match prediction:
As expected, Brighton defeated rock-bottom Rotherham United in Tuesday’s football game at AESSEAL New York Stadium. The Seagulls melted Newcastle United’s advantage to only three points and they are now on a quest to regain top position in the Championship standings. Chris Hughton’s men welcome Derby County at their American Express Community Stadium and they are regarded as favourites to win Friday’s clash. Anthony Knockaert scored his 12th goal of the season in midweek and we predict that he is going to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. Derby County were more than unfortunate not to beat Preston at their iPro Stadium at the weekend, with the Lilywhites scoring the equalizing goal in the dying seconds of the match. The Rams dropped to tenth position in the standings and seeing that they are ten points behind top six, they have slim chances of booking their place in the play-offs.
Highligted Player (Niki Maenpaa):
Niki Maenpaa played for the likes of Kasiysi and HJK during his youth career and in 2003 he joined RC Lens II. The Goalkeeper who was born on 23 January 1985 in Espoo, Finland made 17 appearances for Lens II and in 2006 he signed a contract with Dutch side FC Den Bosch. Niki Maenpaa made 67 league appearances for Den Bosch until 2009 and then he joined Willem II on a free transfer. After playing 18 matches for the club (league) he joined AZ Alkmaar in October, 2011, but he was a third-choice goalkeeper in the 2011/2012 Eredivisie campaign. Maenpaa was eager to leave the club at the end of the season and he turned his dream into reality on 29 May, 2012 as he signed a three-year deal with VVV-Venlo. After his contract with Venlo expired Niki Maenpaa joined Brighton in July, 2015 on a free transfer. The goalkeeper made his Finland debut on 2 June 2008 in a friendly match against Belarus. Maenpaa made three appearances for the Finnish national team in the 2016 World Cup qualifiers.
Highlighted Team (Derby County):
Derby County are one of the 12 founder members of the Football League. However, nowadays the Rams compete in the Championship and they play their home matches at Pride Park Stadium. Derby County have won the two trophies in the English top flight (1971/1972, 1974/1975), with the team lifting the FA Cup trophy just after the World War II (1946). Derby’s main rivals are Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Leeds United, but the rivalry between Forest and Derby is regarded as the biggest one. The two teams take on each other in the East Midlands derby. The colour of Derby’s shirts is white, whilst their shorts are black. It has to be noted that the club was founded in 1884 by William Morley. The Rams competed in the European competitions four times, but they did not record a notable result in the European Cups. The club’s chairman is Mel Morris.
