Our football match prediction:
Despite suffering a 4-2 loss to Reading on the last day of the 2016/2017 season, Burton Albion managed to secure the Championship survival. The Brewers have the same goal for the 2017/2018 campaign and playing well on home soil could be the key to the team’s success. Burton Albion welcome Cardiff City at their Pirelli Stadium in the opening match of the season and it has to be noted that the Brewers defeated the Bluebirds in their last meeting in Burton-upon-Trent. Cardiff City finished the 2016/2017 season in the top half of the standings (12th), but they are eager to record a much better result in the upcoming season. The club chiefs managed to keep hold of their star players in the summer transfer window and, no doubt, Junior Hoilett, who represented Canada at the 2017 Gold Cup, will pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. Anyhow, share of spoils appears on the cards in this one.
Highligted Player (Jackson Irvine):
Romell Quioto is a pacey winger who plays for both Houston Dynamo and the Honduras national football team. Quioto was born in Balfate (Honduras) on August 9, 1991 and he played for Union Ajax during his youth career. The Honduras striker started his senior career at Vida and it has to be noted that he scored 20 goals in 77 appearances in the league for the club. In 2012 he was sent on loan to Polish club Wisla Krakow, but he played no more than nine games for The White Star in Ekstraklasa. Romell Quioto then took a step forward in his career as he signed a contract with famous Honduras club Olimpia. After scoring 38 goals in 96 league fixtures for the capital club the 180-cm-tall attacker decided to taste MLS football. Quioto moved to Houston Dynamo in December, 2016 and he has been playing for the Major League Soccer club ever since. Speaking of his international debut, Romell Quioto received his first call-up for Honduras on February 29, 2012 for a friendly game against Ecuador.
Highlighted Team (Cardiff City):
Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators. The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League. The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby. The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
