Our prediction for this Championship match:
Burton Albion were on the verge of holding Derby County to a goalless draw at iPro Stadium at the weekend, but the Rams eventually scored a late winner and picked up all three points from the match. The Brewers extended their four-game winless run in the Championship, thus they are low on confidence ahead of Saturday’s football match against Preston. The rock-bottom side have been struggling in front of goal of late and we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on Nigel Clough’s troops. The Lilywhites recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers in their last league match and seeing that they have been in a fine form of late, away win should be considered. Jordan Hugill scored his sixth goal of the season in the victory over the Hoops and we predict that he is going to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders.
Highlighted Player (Sean Scannell):
Sean Scannell is a winger who plays for Huddersfield Town. The Irish footballer is capable of playing up front as well and he began his senior career at Crystal Palace, before penning a three-year contract with Huddersfield Town. The English player, who was born in Croydon on 17 September 1990, made 25 outings for Huddersfield in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign, scoring one goal for the club. Sean Scannell has 10 caps for Republic of Ireland Under-21 side, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team. Scannell was named Republic of Ireland Young Player of the Year in 2007, and in 2008 he was Crystal Palace’s Young Player of the Year. His contract with Huddersfield Town expires on 30 June, 2019 and his highest market value was €1 million back on 8 January, 2009. Sean Scannell started his youth career in Addiscombe Corinthians, but he played for Crystal Palace youth teams as well.
Highlighted Team (Preston North End):
Preston North End or Preston were founded in 1880. The Lilywhites or the Invincibles play their home games at Deepdale, the stadium that was built in 1875 and opened three years later.
In 1889 Preston won their first FA Cup trophy and they did well to beat Huddersfield Town in the final of the 1938 FA Cup final. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1889 and 1890 when they won back-to-back domestic trophies (First Division).
Preston have yet to win the League Cup title, but they were runners-up in 1888, 1922, 1937, 1954, 1964. Preston’s main rivals are Blackpool and the two teams square off against each other in the West Lancashire derby. In their first ever meeting in the West Lancashire derby (1901) Preston recorded a 4-1 win over Blackpool.
Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are considered Preston’s big rivals as well. The colour of Preston’s shirts is white and they wear dark blue shorts.
