Our football match prediction:
Cardiff City have been struggling at the start of the season. Following a goalless draw with Birmingham City, the Bluebirds were beaten by Queens Park Rangers in their first home match of the season. The Welsh outfit are desperate to grab something from Wednesday’s football game against Blackburn Rovers, who head into the game following a heavy 3-0 loss to Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium. Seeing that both teams will go for a win in the Cardiff City Stadium clash, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score this time out. In three of their last four meetings in the Championship both teams found the net. When the two teams met at Cardiff City Stadium earlier in 2016 the Bluebirds recorded a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, but we predict that fans are going to see a lively contest in Wales this time out.
Highlighted Player (Aron Gunnarson):
Aron Gunnarson started his youth career at Akureyri and after making 11 appearances for the senior team, he joined AZ Alkmaar in 2006. The midfielder, who was born on 22 April, 1988, was not happy at AZ as he played no more than one game for the Dutch outfit in two seasons and, as a result, he decided to leave the club on 17 June, 2008. The Icelandic footballer signed a three-year deal with Coventry City and it has to be noted that he scored 6 goals in 123 league appearances for the English club. On 8 July, 2011, he joined Cardiff City on a free transfer and he made 45 appearances for the Welsh outfit in the 2014/2015 Championship campaign, scoring four goals for the club. Aron Gunnarson, though, played just 28 games for the Bluebirds in the 2015/2016 season and you should have in mind that he netted two goals for the team in the league. Gunnarson represented Iceland at the 2016 Euro finals and he made his 64th appearance for the national team at the tournament in France.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):
Blackburn Rovers have been trying to return to the Premier League ever since they dropped to the Championship in 2012. The Riversiders compete in the English second tier and they play their home games at Ewood Park. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888). Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995). Blackburn Rovers have clinched six FA Cup titles as well. Speaking of the club’s European success, the Riversiders won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. The colour of Blackburn’s home kit is blue and white.
