Our match prediction:
Following a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers Cardiff City played out a 2-2 draw with Fulham on day 4 of the new Championship campaign. The Bluebirds have found their goal-scoring touch of late and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play in Saturday’s football match against Reading. The Welsh outfit failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and they are eager to book their place in the play-offs this season. Reading, on the other hand, were hammered by Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on day 3, but they did well to play out a 2-2 draw with star-studded Brighton in their last home game in the Championship. The Royals are not regarded as good travellers, but they are certainly capable of picking up one point from the match. Taking everything into account, the two teams seem evenly matched at the moment and we predict that they are going to share the spoils at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Highligted Player (Fabio):
Fabio Pereira da Silva was born in Petropolis, Rio de Janeiro on 9 July, 1990. The full-back, who is capable of playing on both sides of the field, began his youth career at Fluminense and in 2007 he was spotted by Manchester United scouts. Despite signing a contract with the Premier League giants in February, 2007, the Brazilian footballer was unable to play for the Red Devils until his 18th birthday. On August, 2008 he made his Manchester United debut, coming from the bench in a 2-0 win over Peterborough United. Fabio impressed on his debut, but he made just two appearances for Manchester United in the 2008/2009 season (FA Cup). On 2 July, 2012 Fabio signed a loan deal with Queens Park Rangers and he played 21 games for the Hoops in the 2012/2013 Premier League campaign. He returned to Manchester United for the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign, but on 29 January, 2014 David Moyes decided to sell him to Cardiff City. Speaking of his international career, Fabio has 17 caps for Brazil U17 team and he made his first-team debut on 7 October, against Costa Rica.
Highlighted Team (Reading):
Reading are a professional football club that play in the Championship. The club was formed in 1871 and Madejski Stadium has been the home of Reading since 1998. The Royals used to play their home games at Elm Park in the past (1896 - 1998). Reading made it to the FA Cup semi-finals on two occasions (1927, 2015), but they have yet to win the prestigious trophy. The likes of Robin Friday, Trevor Senior, Steve Death, Shaka Hislop, Phil Parkinson, Alf Messer, Jimmy Quinn, Michael Gilkes, Ronnie Blackman, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Martin Hicks are some of their more notable footballers. Aldershot Town were considered Reading’s fiercest rivals, but the Shots went out of business in 1992. Seeing that Aldershot rejoined the league in 2008 it remains to be seen if the rivalry is going to be re-established in near future. Swindon Town and Oxford United are considered Reading’s big rivals as well.
