Our prediction for this Championship match:
Derby County and Brighton, the two teams who have been trying to secure promotion to the Premier League in recent years, take on each other at iPro Stadium at the start of the new Championship campaign. There will be fireworks when the two teams face each other in Derby in Saturday’s football match and there is every chance both sides will go for a win in the opening match of the season. It is well known that the Rams are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we predict that the hosts will find the net in Saturday’s game. The Seagulls were hit by injuries in the 2015/2016 Championship play-offs and that is probably the main reason why they failed to secure promotion to the English elite division. Coach Chris Hughton can count on a number of high-profile footballers for the upcoming season and there is every chance the visitors will score against Derby County.
Highlighted Player (Chris Martin):
Chris Martin is a powerful striker who was eligible to play for either England or Scotland national team. His father was born in Glasgow, but Martin played four games for England U19 team. However, in May 2014 he was called in the senior Scotland squad and he made his debut in a 2-2 draw with Nigeria. Chris Martin netted his first goal for the Scotland national team in a 6-0 win over Gibraltar in the Euro 2016 qualifiers. The 185-cm-tall attacker plays for Derby County, but he began his senior career at Norwich City. He played 102 league games for the Canaries and he scored 25 goals for the club during his seven-year spell at Carrow Road. It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Luton Town, Crystal Palace, Swindon Town on loan before joining Derby County in 2013. Martin is well known for his brilliant aerial skills and he often scores headers. The Scottish footballer scored 14 goals for the Rams in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign.
Highlighted Team (Brighton & Hove Albion):
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club were formed in 1901. The Seagulls welcome their opponents at Falmer Stadium and the capacity of Brighton’s home ground is 30,750. The stadium was built in 2008 and it was opened in 2011. The venue is known for commercial purposes as American Express Community Stadium.
Brighton & Hove Albion compete in the Premier League and they play in blue and white stripes. The colour of Brighton’s away kit is green. The club made it to the FA Cup final in 1983, but English giants Manchester United proved to be a big catch for the Red Devils.
Brighton’s main rivals are Crystal Palace and the Seagulls have recorded 35 wins over the Eagles. Frank Stapleton, Martin Chivers, Joe Corrigan, Bobby Zamora, Mark Lawrenson, Bobby Smith, John Crumplin and Frank Worthington are notable footballers who played for Brighton in the past. The Albion is Preston’s yet another nickname.
