Our football match prediction:
Ipswich Town have been having their ups and downs of late. The Tractor Boys did well to shock Newcastle United in their last home fixture, but they failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to rock-bottom Rotherham United at the weekend. Mick McCarthy’s troops occupy 16th place in the standings ahead of the visit of Sheffield Wednesday, but a win over the Owls could see them climb to 14th position. Wednesday are with one foot in the Championship play-offs and they should be happy with one point from Saturday’s football game against Ipswich Town However, considering that the Tractor Boys defeated Rafa Benitez’s charges in their last game at Portman Road, we predict that the hosts will pick up all three points from the match. Ipswich Town defeated Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season at Hillsborough Stadium and they are undefeated in last eight meetings with the Owls.
Highligted Player (Jonas Knudsen):
Back in 2004 Jonas Knudsen of Denmark began his youth career at Hjerting IF. In 2006 he joined Esbjerg and he made his first-team debut for the club in a heavy 4-0 loss to Randers. Knudsen became the second youngest debutant in the history of the club and he stayed at the club until 2015. The 185-cm-tall left back joined Ipswich Town on 31 July, 2015 and his deal with the Tractor Boys expires in 2018. Knudsen used to play for Denmark U18, U19, U20 and U21 teams in the past and he has four caps for the first team. Jonas Knudsen made 41 appearances for Ipswich Town in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and he scored one goal for the club on his debut season. The Danish international is well known for his long throws and journalists in England often compare him with Rory Delap. Knudsen was born on 16 September, 1992 in Esbjerg.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield Wednesday):
Sheffield Wednesday are one of the two famous clubs from the city of Sheffield (South Yorkshire). The Owls compete in the English second tier (Championship) and they play their home matches at Hillsborough. The venue was the scene of the Hillsborough disaster which occurred in 1989 when 96 Liverpool supporters were crushed to death in the FA Cup semi-final. It has to be noted that the World Cup (1966) and the Euro (1996) matches were played at Hillsborough. Sheffield Wednesday have won four First Division trophies (1902/2903, 1903/1904, 1928/1929, 1929/2930) and they finished the 1960/1961 campaign in second place in the standings. The Owls have clinched three FA Cup trophies (1896, 1907, 1935), with the team winning the League Cup in 1991. Sheffield Wednesday defeated English giants Manchester United (1-0) in the title game. Sheffield United are regarded as the Owls’ main rivals and the two teams face each other in the Steel City derby.
