Our football match prediction:
Thanks to a 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday Norwich City put an end to their seven-game winless run in the Championship and, no doubt, they regained a much-needed confidence. The Canaries, though, are still sitting in the bottom half of table and they will have to be at their sharpest in the remainder of the season if they are book their place in the play-offs. Norwich City are not regarded as good travelers and it has to be emphasized that they suffered a loss in each of their last three away games in the English second tier. Leeds United, on the other hand, did well to beat Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road at the weekend and they are only four points behind the play-offs berth ahead of the visit of Daniel Farke’s men. Anyhow, the Whites are more of a team than the Canaries and we predict the hosts will pick up all three points from Saturday’s football game.
Highlighted Player (Vurnon Anita):
Vurnon Anita is yet another product of famous Ajax youth football academy. The defensive midfielder made a great progress during his spell with the Eredivisie outfit as he played for the first team from 2006 to 2012. During the 2011/2012 season Anita was on Newcastle United’s radar, but Ajax chiefs rejected Newcastle’s first bid for the player. Nonetheless, the two clubs eventually came to an agreement and the Dutch footballer moved to St. James’ Park in the summer of 2012. Vurnon Anita signed for the Magpies for a fee of £6.7 million and he made his Newcastle debut on August 18, 2012 in a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the opening game of the season. After making 133 appearances in the league for the Magpies, Anita joined Leeds United on July 6, 2017, signing a three-year deal with the Championship club. Vurnon Anita made his debut for Netherlands in a 2-1 win over Mexico in May, 2010. His main position is defensive midfield, but he can play as a full-back as well.
Highlighted Team (Norwich City):
After spending only one season in the Premier League, Norwich City dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 campaign. Norwich City are located in Norwich, Norfolk and they welcome their rivals at Carrow Road. The stadium was built and opened in 1935 and the capacity of the venues is 27,137 (all-seater). However the stadium’s record attendance is 43,984. The Canaries have won two League Cup trophies (1973, 1975) and their main rivals are Ipswich Town. The two teams have been facing each other in the East Anglian Derby since 1902. The colour of Norwich City’s home kit is yellow and green and that is the main reason why they are known as the Canaries. The likes of Kevin Keeland, Ian Culverhouse, Steve Bruce, Duncan Forbes, Mark Bowen, Darren Huckerby, Ian Crook, Martin Peters, Darren Eadier, Chris Sutton and Iwan Roberts are notable footballers who played for the Carrow Road outfit in the past.
