Our prediction for this Championship match:
Newcastle United look unstoppable at the moment. The Magpies are on a four-match winning run in the Championship and they are brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of Ipswich Town. Rafa Benitez is doing a great job with the St. James’ Park outfit and a win over the Tractor Boys could see Newcastle climb to top position in the Championship standings. Ipswich Town did well to beat Burton Albion in Tuesday’s football match and thanks to the victory the team put an end to their five-game winless run in the English second tier. However, Mick McCarty’s charges face an uphill task in the game against Newcastle United and we predict that the Magpies are going to extend their winning run in the Championship. Dwight Gale has been scoring goals for fun of late and he is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back line.
Highlighted Player (Paul Dummet):
Paul Dummett is a product of Newcastle United’s youth school. His main position is left back, but he is capable of playing as a centre back as well. The defender was born on 26 September, 1991 and he played for the likes of Gateshead and St. Mirren on loan in the past.
Dummett returned to Newcastle United in 2013 and he featured in 18 games for the Magpies in the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign. On the last day of the season, he made a hard tackle on Liverpool attacker Luis Suarez and, in turn received death threats from Uruguay fans on Twitter. The Newcastle United defender scored one goal in 23 appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, but he did not help the St. James’ Park outfit avoid relegation to the Championship.
Paul Dummett plays for Wales and he made his debut for the Dragons on June, 2014 against Netherlands. It has to be noted that Dummett won the Scottish League Cup with St. Mirren in the 2012/2013 season.
Highlighted Team (Ipswich Town):
Ipswich Town are an English football club that was formed in 1878. Portman Road has been the home ground of Ipswich Town since 1894 and the capacity of the venue, which was expanded in 2002, is 30,311. The Tractor Boys compete in the Championship, but they used to play in the English Premier League in the past as well. Ipswich Town last appeared in the elite division in the 2001/2002 season.
Ipswich won the FA Cup in 1978, with the team beating Arsenal (1-0) in the title game. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1981 when they outplayed AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup final. It has to be noted that the Tractor Boys have yet to suffer a loss at home ground in the European competitions.
Norwich City are regarded as Ipswich Town’s bitterest rivals and it is well known that the two sides take on each other in the East Anglian derby.
