Our football match prediction:
Newcastle United will be looking to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League with a win over Preston at their St. James’ Park. The Magpies have been struggling to find their best form of late, but they are six points clear of third-place Reading with three matches go and, no doubt, they are with one foot in the English elite division. Rafa Benitez’s men aim put icing on the cake on a very successful season and we predict that the hosts will go all guns blazing at the Lilywhites in Monday’s football match. Preston are tough to beat at home, but their performances on the road leave a lot to be desired and, taking everything into account, the visitors are likely to return home empty-handed. Simon Grayson’s troops are on a three-game losing run in the league and we believe that there is a big value in betting on Newcastle United.
Highlighted Player (Cheick Tiote):
Cheick Tiote is an Ivory Coast footballer who plays for Newcastle United as a midfielder. Tiote is well known for his hard tackles and, as a result, he often gets booked. He was born in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast on 21 June, 1986 and he started his youth career at FC Bibo. In 2005 Anderlecht scouts spotted him and he decided to join the Belgian outfit. Cheick Tiote made just four appearances for Anderlecht as he was sent on loan to Roda for the 2007/2008 season. On 2 October, 2008 Tiote joined Dutch side Twente for a fee (reportedly) of €750,000. He provided 14 assists for his teammates and scored one goal for Twente during his spell at De Grolsh Veste. In August 2010 he signed a contract with Newcastle United for a fee of £3.5 million and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular. Cheick Tiote made 20 appearances for the Magpies in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, but that did not help Rafa Benitez’s troops avoid relegation to the Championship. Cheick is married to Madah, who gave birth to their two children.
Highlighted Team (Preston North End):
Preston North End or Preston were founded in 1880. The Lilywhites or the Invincibles play their home games at Deepdale, the stadium that was built in 1875 and opened three years later. In 1889 Preston won their first FA Cup trophy and they did well to beat Huddersfield Town in the final of the 1938 FA Cup final. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1889 and 1890 when they won back-to-back domestic trophies (First Division). Preston have yet to win the League Cup title, but they were runners-up in 1888, 1922, 1937, 1954, 1964. Preston’s main rivals are Blackpool and the two teams square off against each other in the West Lancashire derby. In their first ever meeting in the West Lancashire derby (1901) Preston recorded a 4-1 win over Blackpool. Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are considered Preston’s big rivals as well. The colour of Preston’s shirts is white and they wear dark blue shorts.
