Our football match prediction:
Saturday’s football match at Deepdale Stadium pits together Preston and Blackburn Rovers. The Lilywhites aim to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Preston and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Blackburn Rovers. A win over Owen Coyle’s troops should see Preston climb to the top half of the standings and we predict that the hosts are going to find the net in Saturday’s game. The Riversiders have been producing fine performances in the Championship of late and they are on a three-game unbeaten run ahead of the trip to Preston. Following back-to-back wins over the likes of Brentford and Newcastle United, Blackburn shared the spoils with Huddersfield Town at the weekend and, taking everything into account, the visitors are likely to grab something from the Deepdale Stadium showdown. Over 2.5 goals were scored in each of previous three meetings between the two teams in the English second tier, meaning that fans should see a real football festival in Preston.
Highlighted Player (Tom Clarke):
Tom Clarke is a defender who plays for Preston North End. He used to play for Huddersfield Town, Halifax (loan), Bradford City (loan) and Leyton Orient (loan) in the past and in May, 2013 he joined the Lilywhites. On 5 August, 2013 Clarke scored the winner for Preston against Blackpool and it has to be noted that it was his only second appearance for the club. Tom is Nathan Clarke’s brother and his main position is centre back. However, the Preston footballer is capable of playing as both left and right back as well. Tom Clarke played for England U18 and U19 teams and he scored one goal for the national team at international youth level. Clarke won Football League One play-offs on two occasions. He did it with Huddersfield Town in 2012 and with Preston in 2015. He made 35 appearances for the Lilywhites in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign, but he failed to find the net.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):
Blackburn Rovers have been trying to return to the Premier League ever since they dropped to the Championship in 2012. The Riversiders compete in the English second tier and they play their home games at Ewood Park. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888). Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995). Blackburn Rovers have clinched six FA Cup titles as well. Speaking of the club’s European success, the Riversiders won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. The colour of Blackburn’s home kit is blue and white.
