Our prediction for this Championship match:
Preston will be looking to build on a 3-0 win over Oldham Athletic when they square off against Queens Park Rangers in the opening match of the season. The Lilywhites’ main goal is to return to the Premier League, but they need to prove their worth in each and every match in the 2018/2019 Championship campaign if they are to meet the goal. A man to watch in the home team will be new signing Graham Burke, who scored 13 goals for Shamrock Rovers last term. The Hoops, on the other hand, have established themselves as a mid-table side in the Championship, but their performances in pre-season are certainly giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the start of the new campaign. The club chiefs did not make too many changes to the squad in the summer transfer window, meaning that a good teamwork could prove to be QPR’s biggest quality in the 2018/2019 season. Preston and QPR seem to be evenly matched at the moment, therefore, share of spoils is on the horizon.

Highlighted Player (Tom Clarke):

Tom Clarke is a defender who plays for Preston North End. He used to play for Huddersfield Town, Halifax (loan), Bradford City (loan) and Leyton Orient (loan) in the past and in May, 2013 he joined the Lilywhites.
On 5 August, 2013 Clarke scored the winner for Preston against Blackpool and it has to be noted that it was his only second appearance for the club. Tom is Nathan Clarke’s brother and his main position is centre back. However, the Preston footballer is capable of playing as both left and right back as well. Tom Clarke played for England U18 and U19 teams and he scored one goal for the national team at international youth level.
Clarke won Football League One play-offs on two occasions. He did it with Huddersfield Town in 2012 and with Preston in 2015. He made 35 appearances for the Lilywhites in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign, but he failed to find the net.
Highlighted Team (Queens Park Rangers):

Queens Park Rangers are well known as QPR. The capital club was founded in 1886 and Loftus Road Stadium is QPR’s ground. Loftus Road Stadium was opened in 1904 and the capacity of the venue 18,439. However, it has to be noted that no less than 35,353 spectators watched the game between QPR and Leeds on 27 April, 1974.
The Hoops finished the 1975/1976 First Division campaign in second position in the standings, just behind champions Liverpool. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but Queens Park Rangers made it to the FA Cup final in 1982 as well.
QPR were beaten by fellow capital club Tottenham Hotspur in the title game, but they did well to lift the League Cup trophy in 1967. Queens Park’s main rivals are Brentford, Chelsea and Fulham, but other clubs based in London are considered QPR’s rivals as well. The colour of QPR’s shirts is blue and white.
