Our football match prediction:
Queens Park Rangers are no longer regarded as one of the contenders for promotion. The team’s main goal is to secure the Championship survival, but they have big ambitions for the 2016/2017 FA Cup campaign as well. The Hoops kick off their FA Cup campaign with a match against Blackburn Rovers and they aim to extend their winning run to three games. The capital club outplayed the likes of Wolves and Ipswich Town in previous two league games and we predict that they will defeat Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup round 3. The Riversiders were more than fortunate to beat Newcastle United in their last league fixture and considering that they struggle on the travels, there is every chance the visitors will return home empty-handed. Polish winger Pawel Wszolek scored in the 2-1 win over Ipswich Town on Monday, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay.
Highlighted Player (Tjaronn Chery):
Tjaronn Chery is a pacey winger who is well known for his brilliant crosses. Chery impressed with Groningen in the 2014/2015 Eredivisie campaign and, as a result, QPR owners decided to sign him. The Dutch footballer was born in Hague on 4 June, 1988, but he has yet to make his debut for the Oranje. Nonetheless, you should bear in mind that he was called up to the Netherlands squad in May, 2015. He used to play for the likes of Den Haag, Emmen, Roosendaal, Cambuur and Twente in the past, but no doubt, he was producing the best performances during his spell with Groningen. Chery scored ten goals for Queens Park Rangers in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and he was named Players’ Player of the Year. He is capable of playing on both wings, but he plays as an attacking midfielder as well. Tjaronn Chery has a deal with QPR which expires on 30 June, 2018. He is a left-footed player.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):
Blackburn Rovers have been trying to return to the Premier League ever since they dropped to the Championship in 2012. The Riversiders compete in the English second tier and they play their home games at Ewood Park. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888). Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995). Blackburn Rovers have clinched six FA Cup titles as well. Speaking of the club’s European success, the Riversiders won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. The colour of Blackburn’s home kit is blue and white.
