Our football match prediction:
After sharing the spoils with Bristol City and Ipswich Town, Queens Park Rangers suffered a 1-0 loss to Millwall in their last game of the year. The Hoops aim to put an end to their three-game winless run, but Monday’s football game against Cardiff City will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. The capital club failed to emerge triumphant in previous four home games in the Championship and we are not tempted to put our money on Ian Holloway’s troops. The Bluebirds, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Preston at their Cardiff City Stadium, with the team extending their losing run in the Championship to three matches. The Welsh side aim to regain their place in top two and seeing that QPR have been struggling to find their form of late, we predict the Bluebirds are going to return to winning ways on Matchday 25.
Highlighted Player (Conor Washington):
Conor Washington is a Northern Ireland international who began his senior career at St Ives Town. He scored 52 goals in 50 appearances for the club and in 2012 he joined Newport County. He was struggling to adapt to the new surroundings and, as a result, he netted no more than 5 goals in 39 appearances for the Rodney Parade outfit. In 2014 he signed a deal with Peterborough United and two years later he moved to Queens Park Rangers. He played just ten games for the Hoops in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and he failed to open his goal-scoring account. Conor Washington is a striker who made his Northern Ireland debut on 24 March, 2016 and four days later his scored his first ever goal for the national team, in a 1-0 win over Slovenia at Windsor Park. The Northern Ireland footballer was eligible to play for Scotland through his mother. He was born in Chantham, Kent, England on 18 May, 1992.
Highlighted Team (Cardiff City):
Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators. The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League. The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby. The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
