Our football match prediction:
Reading will be aiming to extend their winning run to three games when they take on Blackburn Rovers at their Madejski Stadium. Jaap Stam’s team are eyeing their third consecutive win in the Championship and it remains to be seen if they are capable of keeping yet another clean sheet. The Royals are on the right track to book their place in the play-offs, but they can’t afford any complacency in Tuesday's football match. Reading are a real force to be reckoned with at home and you should know that they are eyeing their 14th home win of the season. After playing out four consecutive draws with their rivals, Blackburn Rovers suffered a 1-0 loss to Brighton on the road in their last league match and, as a result, they still sit in the relegation zone in the Championship standings. Given Reading’s good home record, we predict that the Riversiders will return home empty-handed from their second consecutive away game.
Highlighted Player (Chris Gunter):
After spending one and a half season at Cardiff City, Chris Gunter signed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur on 1 January, 2008. However, he did not play an important role in the team during the second half of the 2007/2008 Premier League campaign, making just two league appearances for the White Hart Lane outfit. Seeing that he was not considered first-team regular in the 2008/2009 season as well, Gunter decided to join Nottingham Forest on Loan in March, 2009. Four months later he signed a permanent deal with the Reds and he stayed at the club until July 2012, when he completed a move to Reading. The Wales international signed a three-year deal with the Royals and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular. It has to be noted that he made 44 league appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign. Chris Gunter was born in Newport, Wales on 21 July, 1989 and he made his debut for the Welsh national team in a friendly match against New Zealand on 26 May, 2007, while helping the Dragons reach the Euro 2016 semis in France.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):
Blackburn Rovers have been trying to return to the Premier League ever since they dropped to the Championship in 2012. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888). Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995). Blackburn Rovers have clinched six FA Cup titles as well. Speaking of the club’s European success, the Riversiders won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. The colour of Blackburn’s home kit is blue and white.
