Our football match prediction:
Sunderland and Sheffield United square off against each other at Stadium of Light in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of Saturday’s program. The Black Cats have recorded no more than one win in the Championship so far this season and they head into the match against United following back-to-back defeats to the likes of Leeds United and Barnsley. Sunderland need to get back on course as soon as possible if they are to stay in the race for a place in the play-offs and Saturday’s football match could be the turning point for the hosts. The Blades have been impressive at home ground this term, but they were beaten by Middlesbrough and Cardiff City in the first two away games of the season and we would not be surprised if the Black Cats return to winning ways in the English second tier this weekend.
Highligted Player (Wahbi Khazri):
After spending his youth career at JS Ajaccio and Bastia, Wahbi Khazri continued playing for les Bleus at senior level. The attacking midfielder, who is capable of playing as a winger as well, netted 31 goals in 171 league games for Bastia and in 2014 he moved to fellow Ligue 1 team Bordeaux. Khazri was producing fine performances with les Girondins from 2014 to 2016 and, as a result, Sunderland chiefs decided to sign him on 30 January, 2016. The Tunisian international, who was born on 8 February, 1991 in Ajaccio, Corsica, France made one appearances for the France U21 team, but he decided to represent Tunisia senior team on the international stage. Khazri played for Tunisia at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, but the Eagles of Carthage failed to make it to the knockout stages of the tournament. It has to be noted that the Tunisian international scored two goals in 14 appearances for Sunderland in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and he certainly helped the Black Cats secure yet another top flight survival.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival. The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigaan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702. The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbours Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
