Our prediction for this Championship match:
Swansea City will be looking to make amends for back-to-back losses to the likes of Hull City and Aston Villa when they host Wigan Athletic at their Liberty Stadium. The Swans sit in the middle of the Championship standings, but a win over Wigan will see them move a little closer to the play-offs berth. Graham Potter’s charges need to take advantage of the fact that Wigan suffered four consecutive defeats in the English second tier and seeing that the Latics have been struggling in front of goal of late, home win should be considered. Wigan Athletic failed to find the net in previous four league fixtures, therefore, we are positive that the DW Stadium outfit are going to return home empty-handed. In their last meeting in the Championship the two teams played out a goalless draw, but we are tempted to put our money on the hosts this time out.

Highlighted Player (Martin Olsson):

Martin Olsson is an experienced Swedish defender who has spent his entire professional career up to date in England. The left-sided defender came through the Hogaborgs BK academy, but he went on to join Blackburn Rovers before turning 18. Olsson quickly managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Ewood Park, and he made a total of 117 league appearances ahead of signing for Norwich City in the summer of 2013.
The Swedish left-back couldn’t help the Canaries avoid relegation to the Championship, but he featured in 45 league games as they secured a straight return to the elite division. Olsson was at times linked with top European clubs, but a big club move never materialised for him, although there is still time for him to make the next step.
Also capable of playing on the left wing, Olsson scored 5 goals in just over 30 outings for the Sweden national team, making three appearances at the Euro 2012 finals in Ukraine and Poland.
Highlighted Team (Wigan Athletic):

Wigan Athletic are one of the winners of the English FA Cup. The Latics won the prestigious trophy in 2013, with the team upsetting Manchester City in the title game. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that Wigan played in the UEFA Europa League in the 2013/2014 season.
Wigan have been playing their home games at the DW Stadium since 1999 and they had played at Springfield Park in the past. Chorley are considered Wigan’s fierce rivals, but the two teams last met in 1971, when they competed in the Northern Premier League. The likes of Preston North End, Bury, Oldham Athletic, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are regarded as Wigan Athletic’s rivals as well.
The club was founded in 1932 and they competed in the English Premier League from 2005 to 2013. The colour of Wigan’s home kit is blue and white (stripes).
