Our match prediction:
Saturday’s football match at the DW Stadium pits together Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers, the two teams who suffered defeats at the start of the season. The Latics were beaten by Bristol City on the road, while the Riversides suffered a heavy 4-1 loss to Norwich City at their Ewood Park. Owen Coyle’s men are eager to bounce back from the defeat, but beating Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium is easier said than done. The Latics had four shots on target in the 2-1 loss to Bristol City and we believe that the hosts are capable of recording their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon. It is well known that Wigan Athletic are a real force to be reckoned with at home and considering that Blackburn Rovers experienced all sorts of problems in the 4-1 loss to Norwich City, we predict that Gary Caldwell’s men are going to beat the Riversiders.
Highligted Player (Yanic Wildschut):
Yanic-Sonny Wildschut is a Dutch football player who was born in Amsterdam on 1 November, 1991. He was part of Ajax academy during his youth career and he made his senior debut for Zwolle in the Jupiler League. He was soon sent on loan to ADO Den Haag and after making seven appearances for the club, he joined English side Middlesbrough on 1 September, 2014. Wildschut scored his first goal for the Boro in a 3-0 victory over Rotherham on 1 November, 2014. However, he played just 12 games for Middlesbrough in the Championship. On 2 October, 2015 he was sent on loan to Wigan Athletic and three months later he signed a permanent deal with the Latics. You should have in mind that Yanic has 10 caps for Netherlands U21 team. Wildschut is a winger, but he is capable of playing as a centre forward as well.
