Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on Stadio Olimpico when Roma and Atletico Madrid face each other in the opening match of their Champions League campaign. Roma failed to book their place in the Champions League group stages last term and, no doubt, fans are hungry for big matches. The club chiefs did not make too many changes to the squad in the summer transfer window and we predict that pacey winger Mohamed Salah is going to be sorely missed in the 2017/2018 season. Anyhow, the Romans are tough to beat at home and they are definitely capable of grabbing something from Tuesday’s football match against Atletico Madrid. A man to watch in the home team will be Bosnia international Edin Dzeko, who was scoring goals for fun last term. Atletico Madrid aim to go all the way in the elite competition this term, but they will have a big fish to fry in the Stadio Olimpico clash. Taking everything into account, share of spoils appears on the horizon.
Highlighted Player (De Rossi):
Daniele De Rossi is one of the most impressive products of Roma’s youth academy. De Rossi played as a striker at the start of his career, but he has since developed into one of world’s leading holding midfielders. The Italian footballer plays as a centre back as well and he has been a part of Roma since 2001. De Rossi was born on 24 July, 1983 in the capital of Italy and he has 16 caps for Italy U21 team. The Roma midfielder won the 2006 FIFA World Cup with Italy as they defeated France in the title game. De Rossi is well known for his tackling, vision, brilliant passing and awareness and he is capable of reading the game. The Italian footballer made 24 appearances for Roma in the 2015/2016 Serie A campaign and he represented Italy at the 2016 European Championship finals. However, the Azzurri failed to record a good result at the tournament in France as they were beaten by Germany in the quarter-finals.
Highlighted Team (Atletico Madrid):
Atletico Madrid are a Spanish team that plays in Primera Division (La Liga). Los Rojiblancos or los Colchoneros play their home matches at Estadio Vicente Calderon, which holds up to 54,960 spectators. Atletico Madrid have won 10 La Liga titles, but they have yet to lift the European Cup (Champions League) trophy. Los Rojblancos have won 10 Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) trophies and it has to be noted that they defeated their bitter local rivals Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 Spanish Cup final. The rivalry between the two capital clubs is pretty big and El Madrileno is regarded as one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Atletico Madrid played two Champions League finals under Diego Simeone, but they failed to beat Real Madrid in the title games (2013/2014 and 2015/2016). However, the Argentine tactician helped Atletico Madrid win the La Liga trophy in 2014 and, no doubt, he is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the capital club.
