Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Barcelona will be looking to extend their winning run in the Champions League to three games when they host Slavia Prague at their Camp Nou on Tuesday evening. The Catalan giants failed to impress in the 2-1 win over the Czech champions in Prague, but they are still seen as hot favourites to win Tuesday’s football match. Since Ernesto Valverde’s men are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we predict that the Group F leaders will pick up all three points from the game.
Leo Messi, who has found his goal-scoring touch of late, will be the man to watch in the home team. Slavia Prague have collected only one point from possible nine in the process, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Barca’s party at Camp Nou. The two teams meet for the first time in Catalonia.
Highlighted Player (Luis Suarez):
Luis Suarez is a controversial footballer who plays for La Liga side Barcelona as a striker. The Uruguayan forward moved to Europe in 2006, signing a deal with Groningen. After scoring 10 goals in 27 league appearances for the club in the 2006/2007 Eredivisie campaign, he joined Ajax at the end of the season. The prolific striker scored no less than 81 goals in 110 appearances for Ajax and, as a result, Liverpool chiefs decided to sign him on 31 January 2011.
Suarez became the club’s most expensive signing and he was producing thrilling performances with the Anfield outfit between 2011 and 2014. Liverpool were on the verge of winning the 2013/2014 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and they eventually finished the season in second place in the standings.
In 2014 Suarez joined Barcelona and he was the top scorer in the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign. He won the 2013/2014 Premier League Golden Boot as well and in 2011 he clinched the Copa America trophy with Uruguay.
Highlighted Team (Slavia Prague):
Slavia Prague is considered one of the most famous teams in Czech Republic. The Cervenobili won the Czechoslovak First League on 13 occasions and they lifted their fourth Czech First League in 2017. Despite winning the domestic trophy in the 2016/2017 season, Slavia Prague eventually failed to book their place in the Champions League group stages as they were beaten by APOEL of Cyprus in the play-offs. Sparta Prague are regarded as Slavia’s fiercest rivals and the two teams face each other in the Prague derby.
The club was founded on November 2, 1892 and it has to be noted that the club was initially focused on cycling. In March 1896 Slavia Prague recorded their first ever victory, with the team beating AC Prague 5-0. The Cervenobili play their home games at Eden Arena and the capacity of the venue is 19.084 (football). Slavia Prague are well known for their red and white shirts and white shorts.
