Our prediction for this Champions League match:
All eyes will be on Allianz Arena when Bayern Munchen and Liverpool face each other in the return leg of the Champions League last 16. The two teams played out a boring goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg and yet another close encounter is on the horizon. The Reds have been struggling to find their best form in the Premier League of late and seeing that key player Mohamed Salah has been struggling to find his goal-scoring touch, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the German champions. Niko Kovac’s men have been making progress week by week and it is no surprise they are considered favourites to win Wednesday’s football game. Robert Lewandowski has found his goal-scoring touch of late and we are positive that the Poland international is going to make life difficult for the opposition defenders in the second leg.
Highlighted Player (Franck Ribery):
After playing for the likes of Boulougne, Ales, Brest and Metz in France, Frank Ribery joined Galatasaray in 2005, but he spent no more than six months at the club. The French winger, who was born on 7 April, 1983, returned to Ligue 1, signing a deal with Olympique Marseille. Ribery scored 11 goals in 60 league appearances for the OM and Bayern Munich scouts spotted him during the 2006/2007 season.
The French footballer signed a four-year deal with the Bavarians on 7 June, 2007 for a fee of €25 million. Ribery has been playing for the German giants ever since and it has to be noted that he won his sixth Bundesliga trophy in the 2015/2016 season and the Champions League title in 2013.
The Bayern Munich ace played for France at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and he made it to the final of the tournament with les Tricolores. He has 13 caps for France U21 team. Ribery’s younger brothers Francois and Steven are footballers as well.
Highlighted Team (Liverpool):
Founded back in 1892, Liverpool are one of England’s and world’s most famous clubs. The Reds hold a high-profile rivalry with Everton and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the Merseyside derby.
The Reds welcome their opponents at Anfield and it has to be noted that they have already won 18 first division trophies. Liverpool were on the verge of lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and left the Reds without a title.
Liverpool won their last Champions League trophy in 2005, with the team coming from three goals behind to beat Milan in a historic clash in Istanbul. The Reds have clinched five European Cups and it is no surprise they are regarded as one of the greatest European clubs.
The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Paul Ince, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Sami Hyypia and Luis Suarez are some of the most notable footballers to have represented the club over the years. The club’s anthem is You’ll Never Walk Alone and their shirt colour is red.
