Our football match prediction:
Group B underdogs have not had the best of starts to their respective campaigns and the meeting between Besiktas and Dynamo Kiev is a great opportunity for both sides to kick-start their campaigns. Turkish side have either drawn or won their last six matches and have failed to find consistency in their results despite not losing any of their league games so far. A positive 1-1 UEFA Champions League start at Benfica will have been a good incentive, but Besiktas will have to work hard in order to claim a win against Ukraine’s best. Dynamo Kiev have managed to recover from a 4-match winless patch with a compelling 4-0 win at Olimpik Donetsk and will be on a mission to prove that their three defeats in last four games, including a 2-1 to Napoli, were just a minor glitch. Ukrainians will have to put on their best suit if they want to keep their European dream alive, but it will be easier said than done and we predict a tough ride in front of what will be a fiery atmosphere in Turkey.
Highlighted Player (Oguzhan Ozyakup):
The 23-year-old Netherlands-born Turkish international Oguzhan Ozyakup is a midfielder who started his professional career at Premier League giants Arsenal. Ozyakup arrived to the London-based club as a schoolboy from AZ and went through Arsenal academy, before making his competitive debut in a League Cup match against Shrewsbury Town, when he supplied the assist for Yossi Benayoun in a 3-1 victory. Turkish international however failed to break into the first-team and was transferred to Besiktas in 2012. Turkey international has passed the 100-match mark for his club in 2016 and is considered one of the more experienced and most valuable players of the club, despite he is only 23 years of age. Talented midfielder was subject of intense transfer speculation during the 2016 summer transfer window with Valencia reportedly expressing interest in signing the Turkish footballer, but Ozyakup remained at Besiktas and went on to extend his contract, which will keep him at the Vodafone Arena until 2018.
Highlighted Team (Dynamo Kyiv):
The most successful football club in Ukraine, Dynamo Kyiv has not been relegated to a lower division since its inception in 1927. First founded as a part of the Soviet Dynamo Sports Society, Dynamo Kyiv became a member of the Ukrainian Premier League after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Over the course of its rich history, Dynamo Kyiv has won the total of 28 national titles, 13 of which came during the Soviet era. In addition, Dynamo Kyiv won 20 national cup competitions, while it also grabbed 3 major continental trophies, including two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups. Oleh Blokhin remains to this date the most successful player of the Ukrainian giants with his 266 goals scored for the Kyiv club. However, current Ukraine national team head coach Andriy Shevchenko is arguably the most recognisable player in Dynamo Kyiv history. Former Milan and Chelsea star scored the total of 124 goal during his two stints with the Ukrainian club.
