Our prediction for this Champions League match:
All eyes will be on Signal-Iduna-Park when Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur face each other in Group H. The Millionaires face a do-or-die situation in Tuesday’s football match and we predict that they will go all guns blazing at Spurs, who sit in top position in the standings ahead of the trip to Germany. Borussia Dortmund dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with APOEL in their last group game, thus they will have to be at their sharpest against Mauro Pochettino’s troops if they are to pick up all three points from the match. However, seeing that Tottenham seem to be on top of their game at the moment, we are not tempted to put our money on the Bundesliga side this time out. Spurs did well to beat Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium earlier this month and we believe that they are capable of spoiling Borussia’s party at Signal-Iduna-Park.
Highlighted Player (Lukasz Piszczek):
Born on 3rd June 1985, Lukasz Piszczek is one of Poland’s most famous footballers at the moment, having made a name for himself thanks to some impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund. The full-back’s talent was spotted early on by Hertha scouts, and it is important to note that he began his career as a striker, winning the top goalscorer award at the Under-19 Euro in 2004. Following some excellent displays at said tournament, Piszczek was signed by Hertha, but he would go on to spend next three years on loan at Zaglebie Lubin. After returning to the club, the Polish footballer played on the left wing, but then switched to right-back as Arne Friedrich got injured and has played there ever since. In May 2010, Piszczek signed for Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer and has since developed into one of world’s leading right-sided defenders, sparking interest from clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United. The full-back made over 45 appearances for the national team since he was handed his debut in 2007, representing his country at three successive European Championship finals.
Highlighted Team (Tottenham Hotspur):
Tottenham Hotspur are a professional football club based in North London. Spurs host their rivals at White Hart Lane and the capacity of the stadium is 36,284. Tottenham won the Premier League (First Division) trophy in 1950/1951 and 1960/1961 and despite producing terrific displays in the 2015/2016 campaign Mauro Pochettino’s team eventually finished the season in third place in the standings.
Tottenham’s bitter rivals are Arsenal, but Chelsea and West Ham United are regarded as the team’s fierce opponents as well. Spurs have won eight FA Cup trophies, with the team also lifting the 1962/1963 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title.
Tottenham Hotspur hammered Atletico Madrid in the final of the competition back then (5-1). The likes of David Ginola, Sol Campbell, Teddy Sheringham, Jurgen Klinsmann, Gary Lineker, Luka Modric, Robbie Keane and Gareth Bale are star players that used to play for the White Hart Lane outfit in the past. The colour of Tottenham Hotspur’s home kit is white.
