Our football match prediction:
Manchester United could not have wished for a better start to their Champions League campaign, with the team rolling over Basel at their Old Trafford in their opener. The Red Devils have be impressive in front of goal ever since Romelu Lukaku joined the squad and the Premier League side are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against CSKA. Jose Mourinho’s troops aim to get their job done in Group A as soon as possible and we predict that they are going to emerge triumphant in Wednesday’s football match. The Russian side, on the other hand, did well to shock Benfica in Lisbon in their Champions League opener, but seeing that Man Utd have been in a thrilling form at the start of the season, we are tempted to put our money on the away team. It has to be noted that the Red Devils recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over CSKA in their last meeting in the elite competition.
Highlighted Player (Mario Fernandes):
Brazilian defender Mario Fernandes is a right-back by trade, but the 25-year-old South American can also play at centre-back. It is exactly his versatility that makes him a player of significant quality. Mario Fernandes signed for CSKA Moscow in 2012 from Gremio and during his time in Russia he has already surpassed the 100-game mark for the Armeitsy who faced plenty of pressure to sell their prized asset in 2015 with Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Barcelona all believed to be interested in a played dubbed the new Lucio. No stranger to controversy, Mario Fernandes hit headlines for all the wrong reasons on a couple of occasions during his career. Most recent one was a 2015 Champions League qualifiers when his screaming and faking an injury was called an important “theatre piece” by the Russian media. Temperamental right-back is nevertheless an important member of CSKA’s first-team whose areal ability adds an additional dimension to Army Men’s play.
Highlighted Team (Manchester United):
Over the years Manchester United have established themselves as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Red Devils have won three European Cup (Champions League) trophies and they have clinched no less than 20 Premier League titles. A number of top-class players were part of Manchester United in the past, but, no doubt, the club’s biggest legend is coach Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in charge of the team for 26 years. During Alex Ferguson’s spell at Old Trafford the club won a number of trophies, but the Red Devils have been struggling in all competitions ever since he retired. Louis van Gaal helped Manchester United win the FA Cup trophy in the 2015/2016 season, with Jese Lingard scoring the winner in the 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium. The likes of Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best and Eric Cantona are the football stars that graced Old Trafford for Manchester United.
