Our football match prediction:
Copenhagen somehow eliminated Zilina in the Champions League second qualifying round, but they failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Vardar in Skopje in the first leg of round 3. The Danish champions do not seem to be on top of their game at the moment and they will have to be at their sharpest in Wednesday’s football match against Vardar if they are to make it to the Champions League play-offs. Copenhagen are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we are positive that they will produce a much better display in the return leg. Goce Sedloski’s men did well to eliminate Malmo in round 2 and thanks to Jonathan Balotelli’s wonder goal they defeated Copenhagen at Nacionalna Arena Filip II Makedonski. However, beating the Danes on the road is easier said than done and, no doubt, the Macedonians face an uphill task in the second leg.
Highlighted Player (Mathias Jorgensen):
Son to a Danish mother and a Gambian father, Mathias Jorgensen is a 26-year-old centre back who started his career with F.C. Copenhagen in 2007. During his first spell with the Danish powerhouse, Jorgensen struggled with injuries that hampered his early career with Copenhagen, but the powerful defender succeeded in becoming an important first-team player for the club earning the captain’s armband in 2011. Five year after his senior debut with the club, Jorgensen moved to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven where he struggled for playing time in the first team and ended up playing only 14 matches over the course of two years. Zenka, as he is commonly referred to in Denmark with his nickname originating from the movie Cool Runnings, returned to Copenhagen in 2014 and has so far featured in over 65 league matches for the club. Mathias Jorgensen moved through all youth ranks of the Denmark national team and was given his first full senior cap in 2008.
Highlighted Team (FC Copenhagen):
The most successful club in the history of Danish football F.C. Kopenhagen was founded in 1992, through the merger of 15-time Danish champions Kjobenhavns Boldklub and seven-time champions of Denmark Boldklubben 1903. Football Club Copenhagen play their matches at the Telia Parken, a venue that can host 38,000 spectators. The Team of the City as Copenhagen is called in Denmark has won the Danish football championship eleven times, while it has also won the Danish Cup on seven occasions. The club forms great rivalry with Copenhagen’s suburban club Brondby IF with games between the two club attracting some of the biggest crowds in Danish football history in this so called New Firm derby. Through its history F.C. Copenhagen have participated in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League, while their major European accomplishments have been achieved in the Royal League, with the Danish powerhouse winning two titles and coming as runners-up on one occasion.
