Our football match prediction:
As expected, Rostov were beaten by Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena in their Champions League opener, but they managed to share the spoils with PSV in their second group game. The Russian outfit are eyeing their first ever win in the group stages of the elite competition, but beating Atletico Madrid is easier said than done. Los Rojiblancos proved their worth in a 1-0 win over Bayern Munich and seeing that Diego Simeone’s men head into Wednesday’s football game against Rostov following a thrilling 7-1 win over Granada. Atletico Madrid aim to cement top position in Group D and seeing that Simeone can count on all of his key players for the match, we predict that the last season’s runners-up are going to emerge triumphant in the Stadion Olimp 2. One of the men to watch in the away team will be Belgian superstar Carrasco, who scored a hat-trick against Granada.
Highlighted Player (Moussa Doumbia):
A Malian midfielder Moussa Doumbia has been with Russian side FK Rostov since 2014. The 22-year-old powerful midfielder started his career with Real Bamako in 2012. Doumbia spent two years playing for the Scorpions in the Malien Premiere Division, the top rank in the country. Russian side recognised his talent and made a transfer in 2014 tying Moussa Doumbia on a four-year deal. During two seasons with Russian Premier League outfit, Doumbia was involved in 31 league matches. In 2015-16 season he contributed to his club’s runners-up finish with two goals of his own. Full-time Mali international made his national team debut in 2014 in a 3-1 victory over China in Shenzen. His most recent international appearances occurred in September during an empathic 5-2 win over Benin in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Doumbia went on to score his team’s fifth goal with eleven minutes on the clock rounding off an impressive performance.
Highlighted Team (Atletico Madrid):
Atletico Madrid are a Spanish team that plays in Primera Division (La Liga). Los Rojiblancos or los Colchoneros play their home matches at Estadio Vicente Calderon, which holds up to 54,960 spectators. Atletico Madrid have won 10 La Liga titles, but they have yet to lift the European Cup (Champions League) trophy. Los Rojblancos have won 10 Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) trophies and it has to be noted that they defeated their bitter local rivals Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 Spanish Cup final. The rivalry between the two capital clubs is pretty big and El Madrileno is regarded as one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Atletico Madrid played two Champions League finals under Diego Simeone, but they failed to beat Real Madrid in the title games (2013/2014 and 2015/2016). However, the Argentine tactician helped Atletico Madrid win the La Liga trophy in 2014 and, no doubt, he is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the capital club.
