Our football match prediction:
After impressing in the Europa League last term, Hapoel Be’er Sheva are now on a quest to prove their worth in the Champions League. The Israeli side booked their place in the play-offs by beating the likes of Honved and Ludogorets and they are definitely capable of eliminating Maribor in the two-legged tie. Hapoel recorded a win in each of their previous five home games in the Champions League and that is the main reason why home win should be considered. Maribor aim to build on back-to-back wins over Hafnarfjordur, but beating Hapoel on the road is easier said than done. Nigerian winger Anthony Nwakaeme proved his worth in the two-legged tie against Ludogorets, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay. A man to watch in the away team will be experienced attacker Marcos Tavares, but we predict that the opposition defenders will prevent him from scoring in Wednesday’s football match.

Back then no more than five teams competed in the Israeli league and it has to be noted that the likes of Hapoel Rishon LeZion, Hapoel Kfar Saba and Hapoel Ramat Gan were other teams that participated in the league. In 1975 Hapoel Be’er Sheva won their first Israeli Premier League trophy, with the team finishing the season three points clear of Maccabi Netanya.
