Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Similar to last season, Liverpool suffered a 2-0 loss to Napoli at Stadio San Paolo in their Champions League opener, meaning that Jurgen Klopp’s troops are desperate to get back on course. The Reds are likely to go all guns blazing at Salzburg on Wednesday evening and we predict that they are going to pick up vital three points from their first home game of the process.
As always, a man to watch in the home team will be Mohamed Salah, whilst Sadio Mane is likely to recover in time to face Salzburg. The Austrian champions rolled over Genk 6-2 on their debut in the Champions League group stages, but they face an uphill task in Wednesday’s football match against the star-studded English club. Liverpool recorded seven wins in previous eight home games in the elite competition, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Xherdan Shaqiri):

Another impressive player who emigrated to Switzerland, Xherdan Shaqiri is a midfielder with excellent technical qualities, very strong in taking players on and creating chances for his teammates, while also being a danger from set pieces. The Serbian-born footballer formed an excellent midfielder pairing with Granit Xhaka at FC Basel, before making a high-profile move to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2012.
Shaqiri went on to prove a great deal of potential at Allianz Arena, scoring 11 goals in 52 Bundesliga matches, but he decided to leave in search of first team football, first joining Inter Milan and then moving to Stoke City. It was at Britannia Stadium that the attacking midfielder rediscovered his form and if he continues playing at such a high level, it won’t be long before he returns to the biggest stage.
Even when he was not playing regularly at club level, Shaqiri would always reserve his best performances for the national team, as witnessed by 17 goals in first 50 caps. The midfielder was especially impressive at the 2014 World Cup finals, where he scored no fewer than three goals.
Highlighted Team (Salzburg):

Salzburg are a professional football club that compete in Austrian Bundesliga. The club’s main sponsors are Red Bull and, as a result, they are well known under the name of the Red Bulls. The club was founded on 13 September, 1933 and they won their first Austrian Bundesliga trophy in 1994.
Salzburg quickly established themselves as the dominant force in the national championship and they are the most successful Austrian club in the 21st century. It has to be noted that they won their tenth Austrian Premier League trophy in 2016, finishing the season nine points clear of second-placed Rapid Wien.
The Red Bulls welcome their rivals at Red Bull Arena, the stadium that was opened on 8 March, 2008. The capacity of the venue is 31 895. Salzburg participated in the 1993/1994 UEFA Cup final, but Italian side proved to be a big catch for the Austrian outfit. Inter recorded a 2-0 win over Salzburg in the final (on aggregate).
