Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Groupama Stadium will host Tuesday’s football game between Olympique Lyon and Zenit, the two teams who face each other in the Champions League for the first time since 2015. Back then Zenit recorded back-to-back wins over Olympique Lyon, meaning that les Gones are hungry for revenge. Over the years les Gones have established themselves as one of the best teams in Ligue 1 and seeing that they are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Sylvinho’s troops.
The Zenitchiki, on the other hand, are on a three-game losing run in the elite competition and we do not believe that they are capable of matching the French outfit on the road. A man to watch in the home team will be former Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay, who has been producing splendid performances ever since he joined the Groupama Stadium outfit.
Highlighted Player (Bertrand Traore):
Bertrand Traore is a pacey left-footed winger who plays for Ajax on loan from Chelsea. The Burkina Faso footballers scored 17 goals in 48 league appearances for Vitesse before joining Ajax on 12 August, 2016. Traore made his Ajax debut in a 2-2 draw with Roda, coming as a substitute in the second half of the game.
He made his Champions League debut for the Amsterdammers against Rostov on August, 2016. Bertrand, though, is still a Chelsea player and his contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit expires on 30 June, 2019. Traore a winger, but he is capable of playing as a centre forward as well.
The Burkina Faso footballer was born on 6 September, 1995 and he made his debut for the Burkina Faso national team on 3 September, 2011 in a friendly game against Equatorial Guinea. The same year he won the Africa under 17 championship with Burkina Faso as the Stallions defeated Rwanda in the final of the tournament.
Highlighted Team (Zenit):
Zenit Saint Petersburg are a Russian football club that was founded by workers of Leningrad Metal Plant in 1925. Over the years the Zenitchiki have established themselves as one of the dominant forces in Russian football, but they won their first domestic trophy in 1984.
Zenit have been impressive in the national championship in the 21st century, winning four league titles, while clinching two Russian Cups (2010, 2016). The Zenitchiki are a regular participant of the Champions League group stages and in 2008 they did well to win the UEFA Cup. The Russian outfit defeated Glasgow Rangers (2-0) in the title game, with Denisov and Zyryanov both finding the net in the final of the competition.
Zenit play their home games at Krestovsky Stadium, the venue that was opened in 2016. Gazprom are the club’s main sponsors and the colour of their home shirts is white-sky blue. Brazilian ace Hulk is probably the most notable footballer who played for Zenit.
