Our football match prediction:
Manchester United made a flying start to the 2017/2018 Premier League season and they are high on confidence ahead of Tuesday’s football match against Basel. The Red Devils return to the Champions League and they are eager to prove their worth in the elite competition. Jose Mourinho’s troops are a real force to be reckoned with at home and summer signing Romelu Lukaku is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. Man Utd seem to be on top of their game ahead of the visit of Basel and we predict that the Premier League side are going to pick up all three points from Tuesday’s clash. The Swiss champions failed to impress in the 2016/2017 Champions League group stages, with the team collecting only two points from possible 18 and we predict that the visitors are not going to spoil Manchester United’s party at Old Trafford.
Highlighted Player (Antonio Valencia):
Antonio Valencia is a versatile right winger who plays for English Premier League club Manchester United. The 30-year-old is often deployed as a right-back too, both at the club and international level. Valencia was a first team regular at El Nacional after rising swiftly through the youth ranks. He would then move to Spanish side Villarreal whose time at the club was spent on loans to Recreativo and Wigan Athletic. After impressing for them on loan, Wigan Athletic signed Valencia permanently in 2008. His performance for them soon attracted interest from several high profile clubs and Valencia eventually signed for Manchester United. He was touted as a replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford and would go on to win many titles with them. Valencia made his national debut in 2005 and represented in two FIFA World Cups and as many Copa America. He has won 80 caps for his nation and scored eight goals so far.

One of the most successful football clubs in Switzerland, FC Basel were founded in 1893. The RotBlau as they are referred to by the Swiss play their games at the St. Jacob Park in Basel in front of 37,500 people which is the maximum capacity of the venue. The 19-time Swiss champions have endured difficult times in 1980s which ultimately led to relegation from the top flight in 1987. FC Basel returned to the top tier of Swiss football in 2000s to win their first league title in 22 years and go on to win it nine more times over 13 seasons since 2002. The golden times for FC Basel brought European inclusion in every season since 1999-2000 with a pinnacle being the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2012-13. The RotBlau have so far played over 95 UEFA Champions League games, winning almost half of their European outings. The Swiss club has produced plenty of talented players who went on to become prominent footballers all across Europe with Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka being the most outstanding members of the latest generation.
